This Centre was initiated in 1983, out of social commitment activities of Nirmalgram Welfare Centre established under Carmel Province of CMI Congregation founded by Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara the great Visionary and Reformer of Kerala.Since Ayurveda is really the generic term for ‘traditional medicine’ in India, actual practice may be widely divergent. Descriptively, one may either focus on the historical foundation from the evidence of the earliest Ayurvedic texts of the early centuries of the common era, or alternatively a description may take an ethnographic approach and focus on the forms of traditional medicine prevalent across India today.Carmel Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre is embarked on the practice and propagation of Ayurveda, the ancient health care system of India. We offer classical Ayurvedic medicines and authentic Ayurvedic treatments and therapies to patients from all over India and abroad. The spirit of inspiration emanated from the public and the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) Fathers of the Carmel Province, Muvattupuzha, Kerala, India enabled the foundation of CARMEL AYURVEDA VILLAGE AND RESEARCH CENTRE.
