If there is one part of hosting that I cherish above all, it is the conversations I have with my guests. Guests often teach me new things, sometimes without even realizing it. Some guests leave behind little gifts handwritten notes, photographs, or even recipes. I treasure them all. They are not material possessions but reminders of the bonds formed. I keep a small journal where I write down the names of guests, where they came from, and one memorable thing about our interaction. It’s my way of honoring the connections that shape my journey as a host. Culture, to me, is the heartbeat of humanity. It is the way we speak, eat, celebrate, and express ourselves. Hosting has given me the privilege of not just observing different cultures but actively participating in them. My home has slowly become a meeting point of traditions, a place where the world feels smaller because its many flavors, sounds, and stories come alive under one roof. One of the simplest yet most profound ways I connect with guests is through food. Food is not just about taste it is about identity, memory, and love. When I prepare a meal for my guests, often, guests bring their own traditions into my home. These cultural exchanges are priceless. Food across the world, whether bread, rice, or noodles, is always about family and sharing. Traditions, no matter how unique, always come from love and belonging. Hospitality, for me, has never been about business alone. It is about creating a space where people feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
