Horizon Villa South | Rooms & Restaurant

This is a 3 star rated property which do not deserve to be a hotel even. In this property there are three rooms on 1st floor which is called as horizon villa south and 3 upstairs rooms are named as horizon villa north. this hotel do not have continued power supply. See the long list of issues i faced there which spoiled my marriage anniversary celebration: 1- There were no basic toiletries provided. I already lodged a complaint regarding that but only toothpaste was provided after a altercation with staff.  2- There is no power backup available in the property. I have to stay there for hours with no lights in room. Power was interrupted for hours numerous times during my stay there. I have to delay my plans one morning as there was no hot water available due to no power. Phone in room do not work without power and i have to come out of room to talk to staff. 3- This is not a hotel just a 3 room house managed by a care taker. 4- There was no one available to attend us any time. Phone Calls to kitchen and staff room were never answered. I have to step out of my room and search for the care taker for any request. 5- linens, blankets and bedsheets given were very old, dirty, stinking and torn out. It was hard to use them due to bad smell. I have pictures clicked with me which i can provide. 6- Room furniture, interior, foot mat every thing was dirty and in very bad condition. 7 - There was no room service asked/ provider during these 2 day stay there. 8- There was no security or guard at the property and there was renovation going on so labour were roaming all around which made it more unsafe. My stay with the hotel was extremely unpleasant and i felt like cheated to get this kind of room and service after paying 4k for a night. I planned this trip to make my marriage anniversary memorable which was completely spoiled. I request refund of this hotel stay as it completely spoiled my special day and i was nearly tortured during these 2 days because of such a bad stay experience.

Very good property actually . It is not a traditional hotel just a villa with 6 room they have all the facility there. If you want to cook food by your self the hotel people will arrange that also. The people who maintain this villa was very co operative and friendly also. If you want to spend more than 2 days then the Horizon Villa is a very good choice but if your stay is about to one day then its better to go some 4 or 5 star hotel. Basically its a feeling of Home away from home.Location was perfect with nice locality near to the Dalai lama temple and 5 or 6 km from dharmshala and 4 km from kangra airport. transportation facility was available from the airport. The good thing about this Villa is that Horizon Villa is a very famous Villa, every body know about that particular property. Well maintain and clean property.

Due to landsliding and no electricity at the hotel. Goibibo had changed my hotel just a day before my trip here at this hotel I had booked for a whole villa for 3 days with breakfast and at this hotel Royal Palace resort The stay was a bit non smooth as we were given two suites out of which we were only given one and on calling goibibo they were not even interested in calling or talking to them they wanted goibibo to call them and given them confirmation. Everything here was happening at the last moment so finally after 45 mins of waiting we were finally given the room. The breakfast options at this hotel is pathetic we ordered something or the besides what was offered to us. The food wasn't that good. Overall experience was quite below the average I would say!

Horizon Villa South is a great stay option- great view, wonderful staff and away from the mad rush yet in the heart of McLeod though the approach to the Hotel can disappoint as the road is steep, pot holed and in a terrible state for which the hotel should seek government support. The hotel has the potential to be turned into the best boutique hotel/ stay option in town with minimal effort and investment on upgrading the bathrooms, focusing a bit more on upkeep and maintenance. Food is expensive by McLeod standards with a very limited variety offered (though the menu list is vast) but very well prepared and huge portions. Overall, despite the present shortcomings, we had a good experience and I highly recommend this property.
