Pushkar is famous for two obvious reasons- firstly, the Pushkar Lake and secondly, The Brahma Temple, which is known to be the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. Though, at present, several temples devoted to Brahma are present in the country, yet the one in Pushkar is most visited. The sanctum is packed with numerous mythological tales. A dip in the holy waters of the Pushkar Lake is mandatory prior to setting foot in the temple.

The temple is built mainly of marble and stone slabs with a fleet of marble steps leading to its entrance, atop a high plinth. Through the pillared hall, one can walk into the garbagriha to witness the marble-carved deity of Brahma seated in a cross-legged position with four hands holding the akshamala, pustaka, kurka and kamandalu respectively alongside four faces in principal directions. The Lord is mounted on the hamsa and has his consorts, Savitri to the right and Gayatri to the left.

Plan a proper visit to the temple by keeping in mind the following:

• Timings: 6:30am to 8:30pm during winters

6:00am to 9:00pm during summers.

• Devotees can enjoy three aratis- Mangala Arati , Sandhya Arati and Ratri Shayan Arati.
• Only Sanyasis are allowed inside the Garbagriha, hence all offerings are to be made from the outer hall.
• Kartik Poornima marks a great event in the temple and is collaborated with the famous Pushkar Camel Fair.
