Hotels near Bharati Buwa's Mutt, Tuljapur

Tuljapur, famous for the Tulja Bhavani Temple which has been named after the Hindu Goddess Bhavani, witnesses a huge in-rush of devotees during the festive occasion of Kojagiri Poornima, right after Navratri. The town houses a number of religious sites amongst which Bharati Buwa's Mutt has gained high importance.

It is a consecrated ashram established by the saint, Bharati Buwa who was a vehement devotee of Tulja Bhavani. Legend has it that the Goddess wakes-up in the morning to the voice of the great saint only who is believed to be the reincarnation of Lord Shiva. Folk stories of the Goddess playing dice games with the saint every evening has been doing the rounds from antiquity. A number of notable rituals are practised in the temple.
