Jais Retreat

Jais Retreat, Ooty, is a delightful family-run hotel located on the tranquil outskirts of Ooty, offering a perfect escape for couples and families. Our stay in Room 103 was truly memorable, thanks to its breathtaking, unobstructed view of the lush valley. Waking up to the misty hills and enjoying the serene evenings on the balcony made our time there incredibly special. The hotel effortlessly blends rustic charm with modern comforts, ensuring a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The hospitality at Jais Retreat is another standout feature. The hosts and staff are warm, attentive, and go the extra mile to make guests feel at home. The homemade meals are a treat, prepared with care and served with a personal touch. The property also provides opportunities to enjoy nature walks, bonfires, and outdoor activities, making it a great choice for families seeking quality time together. While the overall experience was wonderful, a couple of aspects could be improved. Room 103, despite its stunning view, is situated close to the kitchen, and occasional noise from staff conversations or music filtered into the room, slightly disrupting the peace. Addressing this would enhance the otherwise serene environment. Additionally, the approach to the property involves navigating steep hilly roads with sharp inclines and turns. While vehicles with low ground clearance can manage with some guidance, first-time visitors might benefit from advance instructions or assistance from the hosts. Despite these minor issues, Jais Retreat remains an excellent choice for those seeking a peaceful and scenic getaway in Ooty. With a little attention to these aspects, it has the potential to become a favorite for families and couples alike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Nice location,clean room,good staff,polite behaviour -all these were what we felt during our visit to Jai's retreat. The complimentary breakfast was nice as well which consists of idli,vada and dosa.This is a minimal breakfast,however with this price it was worth every penny,The location is at high altitude,hence we were able to enjoy 10degC vibe.Room is normal in size,however the interiors are good and the bathroom is neat and tidy. Overall we enjoyed the stay at Jai's retreat. We have had the courtsey of dealing with Raju who is the chef in Jai's retreat. He made sure that we enjoyed the minimal breakfast.:)There is no other additional amenities,however with this price it's a great deal !!

Not a best option for the amount I paid, there is a view only if you choose balcony rooms, view was excellent I give star for that, but hotel is not up to mark especially bathrooms closet seats where broken when informed also they didn’t try to fix , also hotel looks where not as expected , restaurant food is average. I gave around 3k for 1 night,if they give it for less price its fine with beautiful view, because I stayed in a resort with individual villa inside a plantation with same price.

The hotel offers stunning views from the rooms, but unfortunately, the accommodations feel more like a 2-star experience. Despite the breathtaking scenery, the balconies aren't as enjoyable as they could be. The rooms are quite basic and limited in number, with only a few options available for both breakfast and dinner. The quality of the food leaves much to be desired. On a positive note, the staff is always ready to help, which is a plus.
