Hotel Landfall

The property is very close to the Aerial Bay Jetty and hence very convenient if you plan to travel to Ross & Smith island. However it's under renovation. The room given to me didn't have a functioning AC and the attendant at reception looked simply disinterested. The area is like a ghost town and except for a restaurant and couple of shops, there's nothing there. The hotel itself has closed down it's restaurant right now, so one has to necessarily step out to eat. The main town is 10 odd kilometres away and after morning hours, it's difficult to find an auto to go there. There's a government bus that plies every hour. May be the property will improve after renovation. But presently, it's in a bad shape. Only reason for rating it 3 was it's proximity to jetty and value for money for the budget.

The owner has changed the name of the Hotel from Hotel Saddle Peak to Hotel Landfall. Location of the hotel is approx. 10 Km away from the city though it is at walkable distance to Diglipur Jetty. When we reached the Hotel on the evening of 19th Sep 2021, the restaurant of the hotel was closed and there was no restaurant in the nearby market but the Hotel boy prepared the dinner for us on our request. The owner is quite accommodating and helpful. Rooms are small but neat and clean. Auto Rickshaws are easily available in the nearby market during day times for going to city. But for moving at odd hours , you have to make prior arrangement. Since our Bus from the city was at 5am, hotel boy booked auto for us for 4am, one day in advance.

I thought the rooms needed attention but i found out when i left the rooms are being refurbished in the next few weeks. Loved it having a bar so i could have a beer with the locals knowing hotel boys were around so never trouble for me being a white female and i didn't need to walk anywhere in the dark. Used a little shop local, i found myself buying far more than i would usually but i loved to go and say Namaste. All locals were very nice and made the effort to say hi. Jetty is 2 minutes away. Food was fab. Mr 102 you made my trip so much easier with all your translating and bug collecting on the one occasion needed lol. Best wishes all, you're a fab team. Photos to follow. No Hotel of given name available at claimed location.Arranged in Hotel Land fall, which was not occupied by any customer for about last 15 days. Rooms and services very poor. Away from town, no arrangement of food nearby. Due to late reporting, compelled to stay a night but not satisfied.
