Hotel Malnad Paradise

The worst hotel experience .. If I had to narrate the sequence of events, let me start with the call experience I had. The manager, or whoever he was, had the most unprofessional behaviour. Upon my request for early check-in he provided an option wherein I would have to check out within 24hrs of check-in though my check-out time was 12pm the next day. Unexpectedly we arrived at the hotel a little earlier than the 6 am check-in agreed upon earlier. He reiterated his stance of not allowing us to stay even 30 mins post completion of the 24 hrs period. Again the behaviour was not at all friendly. So I decided to wait in the waiting hall till 6 am having a plan of a half hour window the next day to prepare. I checked-in at 6 am and went straight to the bath only to find that there was no hot water coming. Due to the lack of a room service, there is no internal phone to ask for help as well. So I went down to the reception asking about the hot water. That's when I was faced with my biggest fear. The caretaker of sorts tells me that he shall turn on the hot water line but it'll only be till 9:30 am. When I asked him about the next day, since I was checking out at 6 am, as to whether he would turn on the hot water a little earlier than the 6 am usual, he denies my request blatantly and argues that if they turn it on for one guest then the water will be over before the other guests could use it. I was perplexed to say the least. Then later I finally got the time to take a look at the room. It was, just as I expected, arranged with least interest. There were no water bottles as mentioned, but just a water jug with water as old as the hotel. I was least expecting Wi-Fi (read as NO Wi-Fi). The bedspreads and pillow covers looked clean. There was ONE USED soap kept in the bath. No towels here. Not sure if the toilets were sanitized. The TV remote didn't work so we watched just one channel the whole time. Again least of my concerns, so I didn't bother complaining. We had a trip planned so we hurried up and left the room to its worries. We came back to the room at around 6pm and a certain vibe, peculiar to Saturday evenings, rang in. The corridors were filled with the smell, noise and presence of alcoholics. When I went in to investigate I realized the mezzanine floor was a bar cum restaurant. I didn't know what I should complain about. The vibe just kept getting stronger with the passing hour. I guess I'm venting out all that tormenting here through this review. Our room had a new guest when we returned, a 4 inch long house lizard. After an hour, there was some weird smell in the room which I later realized was the smell of sewage, probably due to the rains. After having gone through all this, I was hell bent on checking out immediately and getting another hotel room, but due to unavoidable circumstances we had to cut short our trip. So, we simply checked-out. I believe reviews are meant to help other guests, and that's why this long review.

The hotel was not clean, they provided us with dirty bedsheets and the washroom smelled so bad. They didn't even provide us with water, the room service was also very bad. We called them through an emergency switch in the morning and they came to us in the night. Such a poor way of treating people. Total waste of money and a burden while traveling.

My stay in Hotel Malnad Paradise was disappointing. The room was not mopped cleanly. Pillow covers were dirty. Bathroom was unhygienic and the toiletries are not provided. Totally disappointed with my stay at Malnad Paradise

Hot water is available only between 6am to 10am. If you check in at 1pm, you have to stay without hot water till next day morning. Can't have a proper sleep as some motor will be running on the rooftop till 11pm.
