OTDC Panthanivas Chandipur

Poorly maintained and poorly managed property. Not worth the amount charged. Nothing good to say about this property of the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation except the location it is built. But that too useless as there is no beach no sea. just a barren wet land. nothing around the place. No place to go for a walk, no medicine shops, no sweet shops, no restaurants. No options for good / variety food. All nearby hotels n restaurants serve same food. not much options. The place is not actually a tourist destination. Still people come and stay to visit nearby temple towns and some other tourist locations for day trip. Still didn't understand why people come here. when they can stay in Balasore town of they have to visit other near n distant touristic places. The restaurant at Panthanivas is even worse. they have an illustrious menu card. but don't get fooled by it. they only make n serve only a handful of them that too at fixed time n only pre-ordered, i.e. you must order your dinner by say 5-6pm to be served around 8-9pm. I guess it's so coz not many people visit or stay here. For breakfast they only have aaloo dum n Puri or bread n omlette. n mind it. they only serve 3 small slices of bread.😁 We stayed in a AC Suite. no basic amenities in the room.Why pay so much for such poorly maintained rooms n property? Seeing the condition of the AC SUITE room. it shouldn't be charged anything beyond Rs1000-1500 max. The tourism dept/minister of Odisha must take note of this n maintain the state-run property well. Anyone planning to visit Chandipur then I would say don't go there's nothing to see or do. and of you still visit. don't stay at Panthanivas.

This property is on the beach. Best location. Worst service. Upon arrival, they offered me two rooms to choose from. both are at the furthest corner of the OTDC campus. I have chosen 109. In the toilet, they have provided western style comode but without any hand shower or pointed spray! You need to use water from the mug and bucket after using comode, imagine! Asked the person in reception for changing room. they said not possible today, will do tomorrow.(my stay was of 2 days) Room service is not available. requested Iswar da to serve in the room. he was very helpful. The next day they changed me to room 213. room was ok. with a view of the sea through the window. but plaster, paint was coming off from the wall. Pathetically maintained property. P.S. resturant food is average with more costly than outside.

the view from the front side suite room is excellent 👍. the suite rooms at the front are very spacious with an attached covered balcony to watch the beach 👌.the bath room is also very clean with all facilities. 👍food is tasty and not costly 👍the staffs are very polite and courteous. on our request they also gave me room service.👍👍👍i have booked a room in the morning. but the room allotted was at the back side. the front desk helped me immediately with upgradation of my room to ac suite room at front side on my request with payment of the difference.but being a govt. run hotel, a lot of general up keeping is required .the bar has only limited stock and no premium brands are available. they told us that it is being upgraded.overall nice stay and explained for one night 👍👍 but nice suite room. 👍👍

The stay doesn't justify the rate.The room was spacious and luckily the linen was clean. Rest everything is disaster.The whole building is old and needs renovation.It's breaking and falling off from every place.Our room door didn't close completely.The room doesn't have basic amenity like an electric kettle.They don't provide any toiletries except a 5 rupee soap.The hotel is severely understaffed.We had requested for early breakfast on the day of checkout at 7am.Surprise surprise- we got it at 7:45am.When we asked the server (who is originally a store keeper), he said that I am all alone and can't help. Most of the staff are on leaves.We literally were about to miss our train
