Barely 13 km from Madikeri on the Mangalore highway is Raj Estates. The home-stay is just 250 mts from the highway but can be accessed only by Jeep provided by them due to the steep gradient and the rutty road. Cars can be parked inside their roadside Bungalow compound. The home-stay is basic but a delightful experience indeed. The staff are ever so courteous and food is par-excellence. They make both mouth-watering local cuisine and standard south Indian fare. Rooms are spacious with sit-outs. High ceiling roofs ensure the rooms remain cool even during summer. We had visited April end and the rains were just around the corner although the weather was hot. There is a stream meandering by their property and it's wonderful to sit and chill out on the rocks, wetting your legs and soaking in the scenery - water is quite shallow and just about 6 inches in April - it is possible to walk across and access the road on the other side. There is an individual cottage by the riverside designed like a typical village hut. The room is spacious and the bathroom super clean with quality fittings. Overall a great place to relax and unwind. The room rates are reasonable. Food is extra but quite cheap. Succulent Coorgi pork is available by the kilo. Great place for a weekend getaway.

firstly i would like to appreciate the care taker at the property. Rooms were clean and spacious and toilet was very neat. i would like to visit again and spend my leisure time at this property. the water stream and plantations will just make you feel more relaxed and out of the world. thanks for the hospitality. calm place, private property

If you are looking for a home away from home, this would be great! This is my second time here & I love it. It’s away from the city hustle & no network - so one can disconnect easily & connect nature instead. They have an amazing and refreshing stream right beside the stay. The caretakers are the most nicest people I’ve come across.

In the span of 6 years i have visited around 8 home stays in coorg .i can rank this as 1 out of my 8 home stays experience. Thank you Raj for providing us such a beautiful stay and staff .infact i felt like i visited to my relatives home.i dont have any cons to tell about my stay .

Awesome place to stay with amazing staff with nice food and camp fire. it is advisable to check-in before dark as it is located in the estate. The food is amazing, especially the pork Curry and rice balls. it is nice place to stroll around the coffee estate.

Wonderful place to stay peacefully, the staff is very accommodating. The food is really nice at very nominal price. There is water flow next to the stay, it is really nice for a family to hangout over there.

I did not even spend a single hour there. Not at all safe for family stay. No food , No electricity. In midst of a forest , no range for any phones. Horrible . we didn't stay there
