Riverine Suites

Had a stay at Riverine Suites for a night and had a very good experience overall. The property is what it stays, literally on the Chalakkudy river. There are 2 buildings in the property and one is closer to the river and another one is a bit set back with space in between so you can still see the river but bound by buildings on both sides. The building closest to the river has better views and believe they are suite kind of rooms. We stayed in a Premium Deluxe room which is in the setback building and still the view was great albeit a bit narrow. There is river access at the rear through a couple of steps and you can get to the river. There are also a couple of chairs if you want to sit there and river watch. The amenities in the room are quite basic and covered most essentials and an electric kettle is available on demand. The AC was super good. The bathroom was a bit small but neat and hot water was available on tap in the morning. They had provided a basic amenities kit but only one bathroom towel, could have kept 2 for each adult. There is a small dining area in the ground floor and food was available on ordering a bit earlier for dinner and it tasted great. Morning breakfast had Aapam+Green Peas curry, Puri+Aloo and bread+butter+jam, omelette, a juice and coffee/tea. All tasted great. The staff were very hospitable and they even provided coffee/milk to room free of charge in the morning. Just a FYI that there is no lift/elevator in the building and it's not a bother to climb 2 floors for most people. The longer approach road from the main road is pretty decent except for a small under construction culvert. There is another road which is a bit narrow and can be a tight fit for bigger cars. Overall it was a memorable stay in this modest property.

Room was too crampy, the deluxe room. never experienced such a small toilet in a room that cost around 3k. all the furnitures were piled up, the kettle and mini bar had to be on the side table, room is Max 330x300, toilet 120x160. so sad. the bedding and mattress all too good. book the suite only, but it's an overkill for a couple. staff was not courteous, had no interest in helping us with our luggage from basement parking to two floors up. the owner is really friendly and good. should've sorted the staff better. food was really tasty. the location of the resort is mind blowing. the curtains are not black out ones, they are normal zebra blinds, the room entrance is on the stair well, so everyone walking can eavesdrop.

Good resort at a reasonable price. The shallow flowing chalakudy river behind the property make this resort unique. Family, kids friends can enjoy in the fresh streaming flow of water. Enough to relax for one day. Second day you can enjoy Snowstorm and Silverstorm waterpark, athirappilly and vazhachal waterfall.

I had a good experience staying in this property. The ambiance was awesome & the room was clean spacious and well maintained. They also provided coffee& tea maker in my room. Small kitchen was also attached with the room to cook food. Staffs were very polite & helpful.
