Hotel Sangto Villa

Basically it is extended and expanded B&B . Mr Tsewang , the Owner , is a kind and large hearted person who is available to you at any time of day. In place like Leh finding someone like him is big comfort. The Hotel is vee bit off from main market which is great mostly but , at times , has some handicap too. Almost all 17 rooms offer a exquisite panoramic view of snow clad , rugged mountains. We had booked two rooms . Both were spacious but one ( I guess 103 ) was much more than another. It had extended and nicely covered balcony which almost acted as part of room where one could sit through out day and view the scenic range of mountains - changing it moods with time of day and present itself differently with myriads of light and shades falling on it. After reading some earlier reviews we were little skeptical but found that food quality was unexpectedly fine. One area for improvement though is Service Level . This place clearly lack working hands. The few employed here keep slogging throughout day from kitchen to front-desk and where not. Though they are always friendly and smiling yet one can feel their helplessness at time. Mr Tsewang took my suggestion with open mind . Bottom line is : it is not a resort that one see at the outskirts of cities. Go there with a attitude that one has to be bit understanding about place and people at such a remote city. One final word about the Taxi driver suggested here : Mr Kanchok , an ex-army , was very supportive through out and helped us to cope with high altitude sickness whenever - and that was often - we faced it. It was a memorable visit and surely would like to travel once again and meet these friendly people.

Sangto villa is a calm , serine place and well managed place . I had stayed here for 5 days during my marathon and I simply loved the place and the people managing it . The room had the best scenic view Ladakh could offer . And has continuous running hot water . A little far away from the market but I personally didn't mind the 20 mins walk . The food was very good and the cook Rinku made it a point to prepare whatever I asked for . Dolma and Angmo were always there to provide excellent service . For the last 2 days there was a big Axis Bank group and the buffet had decent variety then . Tshewang ( the owner ) himself is always around and we had good talks on the local culture . He and Rixin ( hotel manager) managed the local tours for me as well as all the early morning taxis as and when required for my runs . All in all a very good stay and very helpful team . I would surely recommend this .

The deluxe rooms were spacious. The staff is very humble and always at your service. The owner Tsewang will help you in getting familiar with Ladakh (actually he's the best in our case he drew us a map of ladakh and the places we should see). Of what I heard from other guests and based on my experience Sangto Villa serves the best veg food and at the best price. The morning breakfast just topped everything like a cherry on cake. I was there for a little more than a week and I can vouch that they made me feel at home. If ever m in Leh again you will surely find me here "Guaranteed"

A nice resort with a lot of greenery, ample parking space, spacious and clean rooms, aesthetically designed reception area. Best part - I loved their food very much. staff is friendly and always available. got to meet the owner who stay in the premises, they are lovely. Furniture of the room(mattress etc) is a little basic for this price, but I didn't mind that looking at other comforts. I would love to stay with them again
