Reception at counter was good,no time lapsed to get into the room.The location is panoramic,climate somewhat cool .Supper was served on time,delicious ,compared to other hill stations more than expected.Before going to bed the staff told not to miss the view of sun-rise from our balcony and music of some birds.Tha night was very cool,even though woke up early to visualise the sun-rise,a spectacular one,so Ali the music of birds like whisking Malabar thrush,bulbul etc.After breakfast,the staff accompanied us for the river-walk,another attraction here.(Prior day we missed the seen of a group of wild elephants speared on the river banks) .The points we noticed as negatives:A television set is lacking in the room,among the menu of breakfast sausage also may be included,the toilet to be kept more odourless.Overall it was a memorable experience

I had a really good stay in stanmore for 2 nights. They have 2 types of stay, 1. wooden chalets 2. stanmore bungalow rooms. Me and my wife chose the wooden chalets since that was more romantic and has a beautiful view of the estate from its balcony. If you are going as a family probably you can choose the bungalow since its more spacious. Its a beautiful property in the middle of a tea estate. The food and stay was amazing and the service was five star like. They take you for a morning trek and help you to have a look at the beauties of valparai. If you are a bird or wildlife lover valparai is the place to go and stanmore is the place to stay. Or if you just want to relax and have fun go to stanmore and thr is a river running near the property where you can go have a dip to refresh yourself.

We stayed at the bungalow and felt like royals! John and his entire staff were amazing and their hospitality is by far the best we experienced. Right from serving us home cooked food, to climbing the trees to give us tasty local lychees, to surprising me and my husband with amazing cake and decorations for our anniversary... they did it all. Thank you Stanmore team. ππ½ My kids were very well taken care of by the staff, and John was extremely helpful in getting together our travel itinerary so that the kids could enjoy their time here.

I along with my family including a 2 year old checked in wooden chalets ... .. it is located in the middle of a tea estate it s very relaxing place for couples and people who seek privacy and peace duo ambience . .. at night there are insect problems.. they have club house which is quite far from the residence .. food is quiet costly but a good and decent one unlike the star hotels who gives use less food in the name of buffet ... for family from upper middle class this place is the best to check in..............

Stanmore makes for a fantastic, quiet and rustic stay in Valparai. An original Tea Estate Bungalow, its full of history and heritage. The area around Stanmore makes for great birding walks. The views are among the best in Valparai. Service is great, and so is the food. Highly recommended.

Beautiful camp villas, complete freedom with what you wanna till however late into the night, amazing service throughout the stay. Too many Mosquitoes and pests, since it is in the middle of the hills

Great place to stay and good hospitality.. its just awesome.. the lunch and dinner rates are way high compare to the spread. I suggest to eat out, unless you completely want to stay in the bungalow.
