Raised in the serene mountain villages as an indigenous child I grew up immersed in the rhythms of mountain life the wisdom of our people and the quiet beauty of the Himalayan valleys. This intimate connection to our land naturally led me to explore the mountains through trekking storytelling and eventually sharing this way of life with others. Our homestay Ukino a Japanese word meaning slow living is a reflection of that philosophy. It is a modest soulful retreat tucked in the heart of the mountains offering sweeping views of the stunning Chug Valley. In the winter the peaks turn snow capped and a gentle river flows nearby year round adding to the calm.
