Hotel Wood Castle

a very good budget hotel but with a very few amenities pros : 1) nice rooms 2) value for money 3) nice staff except room cleaning staff 4) walking distance (ask for the shortcut to the main square) to all the good cafes and main square cons: 1) the kitchen is only open till 10 and thus u cannot even get a mineral water bottle to drink after that... also as there is no electric kettle in the room .. you cannot get hot water to drink or ice bucket as well 2) the cleaning staff is not nice at all 3) the road to the hotel is not in good condition (200 mtrs road only) i stayed in the King suite and the review is as follows : location - property is away from all the hustle bustle but still close to the main square and all the best cafes are also really close. the only issue is the road that leads to the car parking of the hotel is too steep and broken parking - the hotel has a small parking which can accomodate 5-6 cars but its still a boon as parking is a big problem in any hill station rooms - the rooms are very neat n clean n cozy but the only issue is that they do not change the bedsheets or the pillow covers throughout your stay . the view from all the rooms except standard rooms is the best in all of mcleodganj food - dint order much from the hotel but thr tea is not that great and the thenthuk we ordered was not great either staff - the owner of the hotel Mr Pasang is really understanding and courteous, also there is a guy named SANJEEV ... he is also really helpful and always enters the room with a smiling face... but the room cleaning staff is not nice and are very rude overall a very pleasant and nice stay i would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a very clean n nice budget property with an awesome view

Our experience at this place was amazing. We booked a deluxe room, the room was quite nice, it was clean, the bedsheet was also clean and the washroom as well. The staff is nice, the man at the reception was very humble he even kept our luggage for a day for free as we went for trekking. The breakfast was fine, some things you would like some things you won't but the view from the room was spectacular and you will definitely like it. Overall it was a lovely experience staying at this place.

this is a wonderful hotel to stay at Mcleodganj with lovely wooden interiors. very close to market, yet tucked away to ensure a quiet stay.. lovely view from the windows and balcony.. and Al fresco seating at the restaurant upstairs to enjoy that hot bowl of delicious Thukpa, watching over the beautiful mountains of dhauladhar range.. the caretaker Mr. Sanjay is very helpful in all sorts of things. totally recommend this hotel if you are at Mcleodganj..
