FlyDubai booked 50 Boeing 737-800 NG aircrafts at the Farnborough Air Show in June 2008, only weeks after it was set up in March. Boeing 737-800 features a high density all-economy class cabin layout and can carry 189 passengers without hassle. Around a year later after placing the order, in May 2009, the airlines received its first aircraft, which took off on 1st June to Beirut. By the end of the month, it provided flights to Amman, Damascus and Alexandria, and ever since it has been constantly adding routes to expand its network. After just 3 months of its operations, FlyDubai carried its 100,000 passenger and by July 2010, it flew its one millionth passenger. Flydubai History

FlyDubai was established with the mission to make travel safe, comfortable and affordable. The Government of Dubai took the initiative to set up the first low cost airlines of the city in March 2008. Only few weeks later, FlyDubai booked 50 Boeing 737-800 NG aircrafts at the Farnborough Air Show in June. This step was enough for the airline to mark its arrival. Around a year later, in May 2009, FlyDubai received its first aircraft. The beginning of the next month, 1st June 2009, marked the commencement of its commercial services when FlyDubai’s first flight took off for Beirut. By the end of June, the airline offered flights to Amman, Damascus and Alexandria. With the delivery of more aircrafts, it provided connectivity on numerous international routes, which included cities of GCC and Middle East. Besides, its network extended to cities across North Africa, Indian Subcontinent, Asia as well as Central and Eastern Europe. With aggressive expansion plans and efficient services, FlyDubai has become a popular name over the years.
