About Jet Airways
Jet Airways Operation
JetAirways has come a long way from its initial days of operating with 4 leased aircraft and now boasts of a large operating fleet. JetAirways now connects close to 76 destinations which include 52 domestic destinations as well as 24 international locations.
With Jet Airlines moving from strength to strength, it announced a takeover attempt to buyout Air Sahara with an offer of US$500 million. However, the deal didn’t go through and later on, a second attempt was made on 12 April 2007 where JetAirways successfully bought Air Sahara and rechristened it Jetlite airlines. It became the low cost arm of Jet Airlines and catered to the value segment of the air passengers.
Similar to Jetlite, Jet Konnect is another low cost arm of Jet Airways which also caters to the low cost segment. It’s essentially a no frills version of the parent Jet Airways that gives passengers low fares without compromising on service. Jet Konnect came into existence after Jetlite ( erstwhile Air Sahara) and differs with Jetlite by offering a premiere service that adds some value in terms of in-flight reading material , welcome drink and hot meals on board.
Jet Airways operates 385 flights on a daily basis to 65 destinations where domestic flights accounts for 44 including all the major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Goa, Jaipur, Kolkata and other key cities. International Flights accounts for 21 destinations including New York, London, Toronto, Hong Kong, Singapore and other key cities across 17 countries in Asia, Europe and North America and from April 14th, 2010 it has also started flying to South Africa, with daily flights to Johannesburg.
With a fleet of modern planes, comprehensive domestic coverage, a high quality of service, making a JetAirways online booking is a simple choice to make. Goibibio’s super fast and efficient booking engine makes sure you don’t waste time when using the Jet Airways Online Booking facility. With a cosmopolitan vibe, Dubai is a melting pot of cultures, offering a unique glimpse into the harmonious coexistence of diverse communities.
Best Time to Visit
The ideal time to visit Dubai is during the winter months, from November to February, when the weather is pleasantly cool and perfect for outdoor activities. This period also coincides with the Dubai Shopping Festival in January, offering visitors a chance to indulge in retail therapy and enjoy various entertainment events. The summer months, from June to August, can be extremely hot, with temperatures soaring above 40°C, making it less favorable for sightseeing. However, this is also the time when you can find great deals on flights and accommodations.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to October) are also good times to visit, with moderate temperatures and fewer crowds. These shoulder seasons offer a balanced mix of pleasant weather and affordable travel options, making them ideal for budget-conscious travelers.
Places to Explore in Dubai
Dubai is home to a plethora of iconic landmarks and hidden gems that cater to all interests. The Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, offers breathtaking views of the city from its observation decks. For a taste of luxury, visit the Burj Al Arab, a seven-star hotel known for its distinctive sail-shaped architecture.
Adventure seekers can indulge in dune bashing, skydiving, and desert safaris, while families can enjoy a day at one of the many theme parks, such as IMG Worlds of Adventure or Dubai Parks and Resorts. The Palm Jumeirah, an artificial archipelago, is another must-visit destination, offering luxury resorts, fine dining, and stunning beaches.
For a cultural experience, explore the historic Al Fahidi Neighborhood, home to traditional wind-tower houses and the Dubai Museum. The Jumeirah Mosque, open to non-Muslim visitors, provides insight into Islamic culture and architecture. The Dubai Fountain, located at the base of the Burj Khalifa, offers mesmerizing water shows set to music and lights.
Shopping enthusiasts can visit the Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the world, or explore the traditional Gold Souk, Spice Souk, and Textile Souk for a more authentic experience. Other notable attractions include the Dubai Marina, a bustling waterfront district, and the serene Dubai Creek, where you can take an abra (traditional boat) ride.
Airport Details
Dubai is served by two major airports: Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Dubai International Airport, located approximately 4.6 kilometers from the city center, is one of the busiest airports in the world, connecting over 260 destinations through more than 120 airlines, including Emirates, FlyDubai, and Etihad Airways. The airport features three terminals, with Terminal 3 exclusively dedicated to Emirates flights.
Al Maktoum International Airport, situated around 37 kilometers from the city center, is part of the Dubai World Central (DWC) development project. Although currently serving fewer flights, it is set to become one of the largest airports globally, with plans for extensive expansion.
Both airports offer excellent connectivity to the city through various modes of transportation, including taxis, buses, and metro services. Popular flight routes to Dubai include connections from major cities like London, New York, Mumbai, and Sydney, making it a convenient destination for international travelers.
Local Transportation
Getting from Dubai International Airport to the city center is easy and convenient. The Dubai Metro’s Red Line connects Terminals 1 and 3 to key locations across the city, including Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina, and Deira. Taxis are readily available outside the terminals, offering a comfortable and efficient way to reach your destination. App-based ride services like Uber and Careem are also popular options.
Dubai’s public transportation system, managed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), is extensive and efficient. The metro, with its Red and Green Lines, covers major attractions and business districts. Buses, trams, and water buses provide additional connectivity, making it easy to navigate the city. For a unique experience, take an abra ride across Dubai Creek, connecting Bur Dubai and Deira.
Taxis are a convenient option for getting around, with metered fares and availability throughout the city. For those looking to explore at their own pace, car rentals are widely available. Additionally, bike rentals and e-scooters offer eco-friendly ways to explore certain areas.
For seamless travel on public transport, consider purchasing a Nol Card, a rechargeable smart card that can be used on the metro, buses, trams, and water buses. This card offers convenience and discounts, making it an essential accessory for navigating Dubai.
