About SpiceJet

Based out of Gurgaon India, SpiceJet began its operations back in May 2005. With a fast growth rate, SpiceJet soon became India’s second largest domestic airline in 2008 grabbing a major section of the domestic aviation market share. A descendant of the Erstwhile Modiluft , started by Industrialist S K Modi, Spice Jet now operates in 31 Indian cities with a total of 243 flights daily.

SpiceJet Operation

Spice Jet was earlier known as ModiLuft started in February 1993 and was one of the first private airlines to start after the deregulation of the Indian Aviation Industry. With international partner Lufthansa, this project took off with the first flight on 1993 5th May. From its early beginnings, Spice Jet set the standards being one of the quickest domestic airlines to start operations within only 3 months of its initiation. Additionally, SpiceJet (earlier ModiLuft) was the only airline in India to fly a three class configuration. However, moving forward there were some business parity issues between the German and Indian management which lead to the demise of the erstwhile ModiLuft. Thereafter, with new promoters, SpiceJet was born which not only brought in the Modern Boeing planes but also a record ticket pricing strategy of Rs99 for 99 days. This special fare created an Asian record since it garnered 37,000 flights booking in one day. With well experienced staff, high level of customer service as well as low cost flight tickets, SpiceJet is one of the prominent domestic airlines in India with an aim to make Flying available to everyone.

Whether you’re flying in for business, exploring heritage sites, or connecting to international destinations, booking a flight to Delhi ensures you experience one of India’s most dynamic cities.

Why Book Flights to Delhi?

Delhi is not just the political capital of India but also its cultural and culinary hub. It offers a fascinating mix of Mughal architecture, colonial buildings, and modern skyscrapers. Food lovers will be delighted with street delicacies like chaat, kebabs, and parathas, while shoppers can explore everything from luxury malls to bustling flea markets. Delhi is also the starting point for the Golden Triangle Tour with Agra and Jaipur, making it a favorite among international travelers.

Famous Events and Festivals in Delhi

Delhi celebrates festivals and events with unmatched grandeur, attracting visitors from across the world:

  • Republic Day Parade – Held every January 26 at Rajpath, showcasing India’s cultural and military pride.
  • Diwali – The festival of lights, when the entire city glows with lamps, fireworks, and celebrations.
  • Holi – A colorful spring festival celebrated with joy and energy across Delhi.
  • Delhi International Arts Festival – A global platform for music, dance, and cultural performances.
