If you are travelling to the suburbs, then you can use the Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) line which is time and cost-friendly. A Leap Card is a refundable card and very useful for travel in trams and buses. Public bikes can be rented as well. Taxis are fluid but are very costly, so it is advised to mostly avoid them if you are travelling on a budget.
