Budapest is the capital as well as the political, cultural and commercial centre of Hungary. It got its name by the combination of two different city names “Buda” and “Pest”, when they were united together with Óbuda to become a single city in 1873. Buda and Óbuda are situated on the west bank and Pest is situated on the east bank of the majestic river Danube.
