About SpiceJet
SpiceJet Operation
Spice Jet was earlier known as ModiLuft started in February 1993 and was one of the first private airlines to start after the deregulation of the Indian Aviation Industry. With international partner Lufthansa, this project took off with the first flight on 1993 5th May. From its early beginnings, Spice Jet set the standards being one of the quickest domestic airlines to start operations within only 3 months of its initiation. Additionally, SpiceJet (earlier ModiLuft) was the only airline in India to fly a three class configuration. However, moving forward there were some business parity issues between the German and Indian management which lead to the demise of the erstwhile ModiLuft. This special fare created an Asian record since it garnered 37,000 flights booking in one day.
