About Sri Lankan Airlines
It was established in the year 1978 as Air Lanka when the original Sri Lankan flag carrier Air Ceylon was terminated. In the year 1998, the airline was rebranded. Now, it is one of the largest international airlines in South Asia and boasts of having a 7/7 safety rating from Airline Ratings.
The airline has won awards from Skytrax namely, World’s Friendliest Cabin Staff and Best Airline in Central Asia (four consecutive times).

Sri Lankan Airlines Baggage Information
Hand Baggage: For business class passengers, 2 pieces of hand luggage are allowed. It includes either garment bags or overnight bags in the standard measurement size 46x36x20 cm and weight 7 Kg. Economy class passengers are allowed to carry only one piece of hand luggage bag with the above-mentioned size and weight.

Web check-in and verification
Passengers can check-in through their mobiles or web check-in while flying with SriLankan Airlines. Mobile and web check-in can be done between 24 hours to 2 hours before departure, until the check-in deadline. This service is only available in English.
Boarding passes will be sent on the passenger’s phone by email or SMS, or they can print the same at an airport kiosk. They can directly report to the gate with their e-boarding pass 45 minutes prior to the flight departure also. Passengers can choose the seat of their choice too and print their boarding pass right at home.
Baggage Allowance
Each piece of hand baggage must weigh no more than 7 kg and measure no more than 56 x 36 x 23 cm or a total of 115cm. In Economy Class, passengers are allowed one piece of hand baggage. In Business Class, passengers are allowed 2 pieces of hand baggage. The free carry-on items that are permitted in addition to the above hand luggage in all cabin classes are: 1 Laptop, 1 lady's hand bag, purse, 1 overcoat, wrap or blanket, 1 umbrella or walking stick and 1 small camera and/or one pair of binoculars.
For passengers travelling with infants, 1 Cabin Bag with dimensions of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm and weight of 5 kg containing the infant's food for consumption in flight together with infant's toiletries and disposable items such as nappies are allowed.

Passport and Visa Information
A valid passport and visa for the country of destination is required for the duration of the trip and the expiry date of these documents must be in accordance with the countries the passenger is travelling to. Certain countries require a 6-month passport validity period in order for passengers to travel. Also, a transit visa may be required as per the immigration laws of that transit country of destination (for example if a passenger is switching airline carriers at a transit destination or if the period of transit exceeds a certain time period or where the main checked baggage has not been interlined to the final destination and needs to be re-checked in).

SriLankan Airlines allows passengers to stay productive while they fly. Passengers can answer their emails, surf the internet or chat with friends online - just as they would do on ground. The in-flight Wi-Fi facility is available for purchase on new A330-300 and A320/321 Neo fleets.
The airlines’ delicious in-flight meals prepared by their special team of chefs take passengers on a culinary journey.
