About Lisbon
Lisbon, the capital and largest city of Portugal is situated in the western Iberian Peninsula on the Atlantic Ocean and the River Tagus. It is known as a global city because of its importance in finance, media, entertainment, international trade, arts, tourism and education. Most of the headquarters of multinational companies are situated in Lisbon. The city is also the political centre of Portugal as it houses the seat of Government and residence of the Head of State. It also boasts of a rich architecture like Gothic, Romanesque, Manueline, Baroque, Modern and Postmodern constructions. The mediterranean climate makes Lisbon an ideal all season travel destination. It offers a variety of tourist attractions ranging from fairytale palaces of Sintra to surfing in Cascais and from natural parks of Arrábida to dolphin-watching in Setúbal.
