The web check-in service of Air Mauritius allows the passenger to check-in to his/her without standing in long queues at the airports.
Passengers can check-in online within 30 hours to 2 hours prior to the departure of flights by simply visiting http://m.airmauritius.com/mobilecheckin.htm and filling in the booking reference number, surname and flight number. However, boarding passes will not be provided to passengers boarding from Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Shanghai through web/mobile check-in. They can be obtained from the check-in counters.
Passengers are required to have their e-tickets for Air Mauritius flights to check-in online. A group of 9 passengers with the same booking file and reference number are allowed to check-in online. Passengers with infants below 2 years of age who did not request for a cot, or, passengers above 2 years old can check-in online. Passengers who require special assistance such as wheelchairs cannot check-in online.
Passengers departing from Mumbai can check-in within 30 hours to 4 hours prior to the departure of flight.
The baggage allowance for adults and children above 2 years of age depends on the origin and the destination. Passengers flying from Asia to Europe through Paris are freely allowed to carry one baggage piece weighing 23 kg in the economy class cabin and two pieces of baggage, each weighing 32 kg, in the business class cabin. Passengers travelling from Asia to Europe via London, Indian Ocean Islands, Africa, Asia or Oceania are allowed to carry one piece of baggage weighing 30 kg in the economy class cabin and two pieces of baggage, each weighing 32 kg, if travelling in the business class cabin. Infants can also carry one baggage piece weighing 23 kg, except for infants flying to and from Mauritius and island of Rodrigues, who can carry one baggage piece weighing 5 kg. Students travelling with Student fares can carry an additional baggage piece not weighing above 20 kg. Any baggage piece should not exceed the dimensions of 158 cm in length, width and height.
