Polynesian Airline was founded in 1959 in Samoa by an Australian Captain. The airline started its flight operations in the same year, 3 years before Samoa got its independence from New Zealand in 1962. The head-quarters of the airline is based in Samoa National Provident Fund Building in the capital city Apia. The Fagali'i International Airport serves as the primary hub to Polynesian Airlines.
