Shaheen Air established itself as the first Pakistani private airline in December 1993 when it commenced its domestic flight operations. Initially the airline operated between Karachi and Islamabad only with two wet leased Boeing 737-200 aircraft. The airline has its hub at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. The head-quarters of the airline is also based at the Jinaah International Airport. On 23rd October 1994, the airline was declared Pakistan's second national carrier.
