    Air Asia was known as Asian Spirit in 1995, but it could not thrive and soon was under debt. New Management renamed it as Air Asia and started its venture in 2001 with 2 old aircraft and the debt. This airline has done great to establish itself as the best low-cost airline in the world.

  • The airline is based at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City of Phillipines. Another important hub of Air Asia is Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Cebu city.

For international flights, the plans are 20kg/25kg/30kg/40kg. It is mandatory that each single piece of baggage weighs less than or equal to 32kg. The maximum allowed dimensions for checked baggage are 81cm*119cm*119cm.

Cabin Baggage:

Each passenger travelling with Air Asia is entitled to carry one piece of cabin baggage on the flight. The maximum permitted weight for this baggage is 7 kg, while the limit for linear dimensions is 36cm*23cm*56cm.
