Akanta Cherai Beach Resort

It is good for the price you pay. Rooms and facilities are based on traditional style. If you want modern amenities go for the top variant rooms. This resort is sandwiched between Sea and Backwater which is perfect. The beach is very nearby, you can almost see it from the roof. Ayurvedic spa facility is also available. It is family friendly. The backyard is huge with a garden where there is a lot of space to just sit and relax. Lots of small trees and plants which are well maintained. Pool has a separate shallow portion for kids, which is also maintained well. The overall staff behaviour is very welcoming and polite.

The property does not have any lake facing room and the sea beach is just on the other side of the road. From the room you need to walk till the pool and the lake is behind the pool. The pool is not maintained in an hygienic manner. Restaurant food options are minimum and very average in taste. Last order has to placed by 9 pm. The rooms lack amenities based on the price they charge. Bathroom lock was not working properly, Hand Shower holder not available, Coffee Maker lid broken.

Room's are very clean, They maintain hygiene very well, Staffs are very helpful, and food was awesome especially fish items. The beach is walking distance of only 2 minutes. Behind the hotel and close to the swimming pool there is beautiful back waters lake. Good experience overall.

Over priced for the services. During our stay the owners came there with other people and was not at all mindful of guests staying. They were loud and it was quiet frustrating to relax there. Food is mediocre. The service staff were good.
