Eden Garden Farmstay

Following words misleading: Heritage - no heritage experience. Cheap plastic furniture, cheap tin/plastic doors, synthetic bed linen and dirty synthetic blankets. Very badly maintained. Farmstay - no farm like experience. Trick photography make it look like huge mansion with pond, garden and drive way. Photos of very small, around 8 feet circular pond with a two feet wooden boat to make it look like huge pond with boat. Badly infested with mosquitoes. You can’t say it farmstay unless off course mosquito breeding does not qualify as valid farming activity. Accessibility: at the end of a narrow dog poo infested allay witch connects to nearest car accessible road. Rickety spiral staircase leads to room. Not suitable for kids, you would always worry about their tumbling down the stairs just outside room. Service and cleanliness- Almost everything has a dirty dust layer. Floor of room and area outside room is painted red to hide earlier layers of grime, hence paint is a bit grainy and has become sticky with fresh layers of grime. Very cheap furniture, synthetic printed linen and khaki blankets, deliberately chosen to for capacity to hide dirtiness. Owner was aware of mosquito menace, but no provision of repellent coil or net in room. Listing at another site states that rooms have sound proofing, but you can listen cooker whistles late in night And early morning.*

Eden Garden Homestay is a beautiful house located at Fort Kochi. Room was clean and of adequate size, slightly overpriced though. The attached Kitchenette was much more than we expected, we were able to cook good food for our toddler son. They have a variety of birds which was a source of pleasure for our son. Dinner was good and very reasonably priced. Mosquitoes were a problem at night, but not inside the room. Only in the open garden. Maybe it is a green space so they can't do much about it. A little effort to maintain cleanliness of the surrounding and especially the barn is needed. Overall, it was a memorable stay, much much more than we expected.

Best best best homestay experience that I got..Judith and her family is so warm that I just can't explain in words..she not only accepted my very last minute request but helped me in planning my city tour too..she has a lovely home surrounded by flora and fauna and her pets :) I would definitely love to go back someday to Kochi and without a doubt would like to stay with Judith and family :) Judith is a very warm host and you'll love your stay at her home :)
