We decided to take the government ferry from Alleppey to Kullom and further explore the backwaters of Kerala. The journey through was eight hours and we decided to find accommodation at one of the scheduled stops and then continue after a couple of days. We chose the Coir Village lake resort as there was a scheduled stop on the ferry schedule website, not the case, this is India and nothing is quite what is seems. We got on the ferry and after some debate with the staff and showing them the schedule they agreed to stop for us. What a wonderful place. Peace and tranquility on two small islands just off the main waterway. Nothing was too much trouble and they went above the call of duty to ring the ferry terminal and arrange our collection two days later and transfer us to Kollom. Fantastic, thanks you Shameer and your staff. Coir Village lake resort was really comfortable and came with a HOT WATER SHOWER, so rarely found as we have travelled around India. The food was excellent and always served with a smile. Ayurvedic treatment is available here and many visitors were here for this in particular. Thanks again for a great albeit short stay.

The hotel is not located near Finishing point, Alleppey as mentioned in maps or in this site. Its not in Alleppey, but around 40 km from Alleppey with no connectivity near a place called Harippad. It costs close to 3000 Rs. from Cochin to reach this place by taxi as the taxi charges 2 way. On reaching the resort, we were shocked to see that the bathroom door cannot be closed and TV/set top box does not work (without considering the ants and lizard in the room). On repeated request we were taken to 3 different rooms but the TV's don't work in any room and there was not a single plug point which worked in one of them (that we cannot even charge our mobile phones). The dinner we ordered ala-carte was pathetic. The breakfast was quite good. We requested the hotel to arrange a taxi from there to Thaneermukom to drop in a houseboat. The manager convinced us to take an auto saying that was only available and we realized that this place was almost 55 kms from there. The auto charged us 20rs./km when normal taxi fares are between 10-13 rs./km. The whole place is not worth even a try please avoid at all costs.

We stopped at Haripad while getting down from Munnar, this resort was perfect place for resting, cottage are good, clean...Geyser is there, AC is there... staff is polite and Manager Biju was available on call for any help to resolve any issue. It was pleasant stay and seems it is not yet known to many outsiders... Highly recommend this place, perfect for couple and families.. 😊✌️

We stayed with family. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The property is beautiful with a relaxing feel throughout. All activities were good. The ayurvedic massage was great and cost effective. Food options need some review as they are very limited.Cottages are very neat.

First of all welcome is very respect & Smile.. Awesome stay with Kerala Cottage view of lake side the resort is peaceful & privacy.. it's suitable for family & couple's... Staff coordinate is appreciateaple Mr. Sammer guide a lot.. We took a Ayurveda Massage it's very good.

It was an awesome experience. Supportive staffs. You have to take 2 boats get your cottage, eventhough the distance is too short its a good experience. Single disadvantage is the remote location
