Most folks coming here (me included) do so with the intent of visiting the Chidambaram temple. It's about 15 Km from the temple but the distance is easy to cover with your own transport or even by bus (bus stop is very close). The property itself is really beautiful and offers s lot of peace and quiet for folks looking to get away from the madding crowd (except for the times that the loudspeaker from adjoining religious institutions decide to blare up - even at the unearthly hour of 4:30am). The rooms are clean but need a little maintaining (like almost all reviews here will tell you). You will find the occasional broken flush plate and faucet holder or cracked tile and unpolished wood but ignore these and you will find that the staff are very accommodating and friendly, attentive to the point of being doting and yet giving you your space. I would give the staff 10 stars if it were possible. Would I come here again? Most definitely!

Really lovely, colonial place with faded grandeur. Got it for a good price so it was a bargain. I was the only resident but they couldn't do enough for me and the food was fabulous, even managed to source me a beer for dinner. It's in the middle of nowhere with a small village attached which looks a bit threatening and dodgy but I went out and did a 12km walk and had a fabulous time. The people are curious but extremely friendly and this made my trip. I stayed here to visit the Mangrove forest at Pichavarum and this looked like the best option and I am so glad I did. It's like a set of Tales of the Unexpected for those of you old enough to remember that but that just added to the ambience. Give it a try, it's not a spa but definitely something out of the ordinary.

We travelled to chidambaram and pichavaram with stay in LakshmiVilas heritage resort. We are four friends with our wives and two toddlers stayed there. the location was excellent ideal if u travel by car. the hotel staffs were pleasing and respected the guest. There was one guy named Mr.Venkatesh who helped us in getting everything done. I contacted him before we started our trip to check about availability of milk and other things for our kids. he assured us that everything will be taken care of. Standing by his word he took care like anything and made sure we had a pleasant stay... our kids enjoyed the place.. we have planned to visit again for four to five days just to relax in the resort...

We loved this quaint place,although a bit far but it was worth it.If you love authentic South Indian food,a comfortable environment then go for this place.the Staff is also very nice. but people who are expecting I don't know what,are criticizing this place then please do your research before going and also what may work for you might now work for others.so people with kids,call n confirm what you are expecting and if it doesn't meet your criteria do not book.i agree garden needs upkeep but i understand how in a village it must be hard to find workers.but from what we experienced in terms of stay,staff,food,ambience it was lovely.

Actually i booked this hotel in a hurry without too much research. But it turned out to be a really unique experience. The hotel is situated about 13km from Chidambaram town in a very serene and quiet village. The hotel has about 20 rooms constructed in a typical chettinad bungalow fashion (with a yard in the centre). the rooms are very clean and well ventilated. the food and service are excellent. i took only south indian food which i really enjoyed. the surrounding could have been better maintained. but overall this is ideal for those looking for a calm and quiet place. but one has to depend on taxi to reach the town.

Very big property to enjoy with all the option avilable enjoy your own time with family and friends specially if you want to play you will have a lot of option. Though my booking was acidently as i was looking something with in the chidambram City but never regreat after reaching the hotel dispite extra driving of 20 km and continued one more day. Staff was too humble we were feeling like a caretaker came with us from home who just work like a yes man. A lot of option to play, big and open property where you can rome around without limit kids was super active during our stay of 2 days

It was a pleasant stay. Arun and Krishna took care of us very well. Since it is a very old guest house, it needs some renovation on the objects it has. Starting from the entrance gate and front lawn. We don't know which one is main gate to enter by car. It needs good painting to show directions. Front of the entrance gate, it was fully wet and mud due to rain. But that area can be put to concrete till the road. Inside garden(thoppu) area also could be cleaned. Looks like it was not done for months with full of dry leaves. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

We had a very pleasant time in this hotel.rooms are neat and spacious.staff are very courteous.the manager and others are very accommodative and extended helpful advise.we even celebrated Independence Day in grand manner.this heritage hotel is situated 14kms away from the temple town Chidambaram and has got a serene atmosphere.

The hotel stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful, the location was very convenient for getting around and many activities. If we were to travel to Prague again, we would definitely stay there again! It was a Safe and Secured Stay

Real heritage hotel. Pond, coconut garden, well are all enjoyed by kids. Location is bit far from Chidambaram, but worth the stay for relaxation.
