Hotel Shivaay Grand ( 5min walk to Golden Temple )

The hotel is close to the Golden temple, around 10mins walk. The staffs are courteous and well mannered. The beds were comfortable and we had a good sleep. The hotel itself is new so some arrangements needs to be in place - like when we reached the hotel at 3pm due to a delayed train (check in at 12 noon) there was no towels and soaps. We had to request and get it and door mats were provided later. There is room service and a sitting area on the terrace but no dine in restaurant. One or two families can use the terrace area for dining at a time. We used it twice and the food was tasty. One of the rooms (404) had no AC and the other (403) had AC but no remote was provided although Go Ibibo said rooms will have air conditioning. But we did not complain because there was no need of ACs since the weather was cold. The TVs also did not work but we were always outside coming to the room only for sleeping and bathing. So that also was not a concern for us. Overall, a nice experience and hence the rating of 4. One important thing - Google maps is showing wrong location, so don't go by that. You have to tell the rikshaw/taxi driver that the hotel is opposite to Mahan Singh gate.

the rooms are neat and clean .but bathroom needs more powerful lights so that you can shave.hot water is available 24 hours. rooms are not sound proof so you may get disturbed sleep. there is no ventilation in some of the rooms and exhaust fan is little effective.always go for window side rooms.. also checkin and check out timings are not flexible .food is good. it is in the market but that is a plus point.and every thing is available at walking distance.but be careful of two wheelers zooming past you in the whole of Amritsar. especially if you are with children. the ventilation system should be improved by installing bigger and powerful exhaust fans. tv is cable tv. with limited channels.

Shivaaya hotel is at a close proximity to many attractions and at a walkable distance from Golden temple & Heritage walk where evenings are best enjoyed. Breakfast was wonderful at the hotel and we loved the awesome Parantha & Tea. We booked a triple room for 2 adults and 1 kid (7yrs) for 3Nights. It was spacious and had 24hrs hot water. Also the hotel front desk helped arrange a taxi to Wagha border and their services were excellent. We enjoyed staying at this hotel and recommend to other travellers.

Hotel was new and it is being maintained very well by the management. It is located on a busy street at a walking distance from Golden Temple. Staff was courteous and room service was prompt . Rooms were clean and well maintained. Their breakfast was good. If you go by your own vehicle, they make arrangement for parking in the nearby parking lot without any extra cost. Overall a good experience during our stay at this hotel.
