I've spent about three nights in this hotel, while visiting Burdwan on a medical visit with a senior relative. I've nothing but praise for Sinclairs Burdwan. Their best asset are the staff, who are uniformly courteous as well as professional. The hotel is quite spacious, very clean and is run in an efficient yet relaxed, unobtrusive manner. Even though situated a little outside the main town, which necessitates you to either walk for about 10 minutes to the nearest busy area, or have your personal vehicle, the location is also a boon for the hotel - since it provides for a quiet, leisurely experience. The rooms are well equipped - TV, refrigerator, personal safe, large cupboard, spotless bathrooms, clean bedsheet/pillowcovers, comfortable sofa and LOTS of space. Breakfast, which is free with the booking, has a wide array of choices, and the staff actually came to our table to ask if we needed anything more! There was a swimming pool at the back yard, which is clean and surrounded by a well manicured lawn. I've also noticed a large gym and a play-pen for children. The hotel sometimes rents out an adjoining area for wedding parties, conferences etc, as happened twice during our stay, and a live band was playing during one of those. But once you're inside the room, the sound is nicely Muffled and doesn't really bother you. On the contrary, we enjoyed the scene of the baraat arriving at the wedding, even though we weren't on the guest list! I'm quite inclined to visit the hotel again, and perhaps make it a hub from where to visit nearby areas (Santiniketan is only about 60 kms from here).

This is a branded hotel with all standard amenities like AC, tea and coffee accessories. Complimentary breakfast was good. The swimming pool was not as clean as expected. Staff behaviour and room service was good. Overall in my opinion the charge is overpriced. Not a good idea to spend from your own pocket 😀
