Sumit Residency Homestay

We had a fantastic stay experience at Sumit Residency. We visited Port Blair with big family and booked 3 rooms there for initial 2 nights and I must say its a very nice choice. Prices are also very reasonable. They have 6 rooms in total, all in same level. Along with a reasonable dining space which can easily accommodate 6 people (we were 8 family members and managed it well still). Its located on the airport boundary periphery, so literally 5 mins from airport. All rooms are air conditioned and most importantly, clean. They provide towel and beds are of king size. Room had a TV(we didnt check if channels are working though), wardrobe & 2 bedside tables, one tea table & 2 chairs. Port blair is known for power cuts, and they have inverter backup which supports everything AC, but power cuts were of 20-30 mins so it didn't bother us. We also included dinner option along with stay & breakfast and all were served well. Its kind of homestay option where host's parents do the cooking, hence food is healthy, hygienic and tasty. Also, you can pass on your preference/choice in advance and they will try their best to accommodate them. Uncle (Host's father) is very jovial and down to earth. He used to address any queries we had, be it around our stay, or tourist destination or local tips etc. You can order adhoc food, tea, coffee etc and they are payable as per menu cost. They also provided a fridge , drinking water and utensils in common room for guests to use We loved the stay so much that eventually we rebooked it for our 3rd night stay for our final day of the trip. Overall a nice trip and can absolutely recommend it to anyone, specially with large group as it would feel like home (or your private property).

Excellent homestay located very near to Port blair airport, approximately at a distance of 3 km. Limited food items they will prepare and provide if ordered in advance. There are good veg & non veg hotels located very near to the hotel location.Fairly near rooms and toilet with heater,ac and tv. A separate dining area is also available.The owner Mr. Sumit is a gentleman ready to help anytime. He is a gem of a person. Overall an excellent experience. We stayed there for 2 nights ; one at the beginning and another at the end of the stay owner is extremely friendly and ready to help
