The River Grand

.. There is no bar at all. In fact, I have been told that alcohol is not allowed. ..Gujarati travellers willing to drink alcohol will be greatly disappointed. There was a group called ‘Hina travels’ apart from us staying in the hotel. They prepared bufet dinner only for them at 4th floor keeping their restaurant on third floor totally shut. They asked us only to order la carte, not bufet. We preferred to have dinner in our own room than to have it in isolation on closed restaurant. Breakfast bufet service was very poor. We had to wait for every single item on menu for ages. It is not purely located besides beas river. It is opposite the river with main road with traffic in between. Moreover, it is little far from centre and difficult to get rickshaw. I advise to take rickshaw only to roam in manali even if u have own car. It took 30 mins for us to reach centre because of traffic despite the distance of only 3 kms. You would find similar or better hotels near centre area easily. I must mention positive points too: Awesome la carte north indian food. Reception staff is helpful. They helped us in arranging taxi for rohtang pass. AC of the Duke Suit which I booked for my family was not working. Staff informed me that they have central AC which does not works and provided us with a table fan ! Drain plug of bath tub in our washroom was missing. Mismanaged property overall due to lack of coordination between different departments of the hotel. Don't know why, but Room Service team thought housekeeping team is responsible for topping-up drinking water in the room. For good 25 minutes they couldn't provide a Jug of water until I had to go downstairs at reception and make them realise the problem ! Staff was confused about the Buffett, for good 40 minutes they couldn't tell us that on which floor they have organised Buffet for us.

This hotel is simply wow in each n every aspect be it location, staff, rooms, cleanliness or food. I just loved each n every bit of my stay of 3 nights. The Dukes rooms are very big n spacious with a lovely valley view. The rooms were very clean and all the furniture was in excellent condition. The highlight of the hotel is its staff and location.The food is very delicious.The service is exceptional & very prompt. We would like to thanks Mr Rathi(GM), Mr Ranjit, Anil & Shubham for providing us wonderful hospitality Location is beautiful and easily approachable with good parking space. All in all an amazing stay with lots of fond memories. We would definitely visit again and recommend to everyone.

1. Toilet seat is broken having cracks and water Jet not properly working as body back, shirt & Trouser wet during using. 2. Stayed in room 115 having housekeeping issues, dust accumulation over furniture and flooring etc. 3. Dinning hall at 3rd floor having bad unhygienic floor. 4. Food rates also very higher as compare with condition of hotel & taste. Very awful experience 😔. Poor service and condition of hotel.
