Hotel Zumthang

We booked this hotel for its great reviews and weren't disappointed. We stayed as a family and booked a couple of three bedded rooms at budget prices from an *********  Location: The hotel is located about 3 kms from the main town of Ravangla. Share taxis are not easily available from the location to the town. If staying near the town is your priority then it is best to avoid this hotel. Otherwise the location is very peaceful and serene (a walk along the road, with thick sloping forests on either side and the wonderful views, can be exhilarating). It boasts an impressive view of the mountains and of the snow clad Kangchenjunga range. There is ample space in the large front porch and parking your car or taxi should not be a problem. Rooms: Rooms are neat and clean with clean bathrooms. Hot water is available 24 hours. Power cuts can be a bother though as I don't think they have a proper back up power system. Rooms with windows on the North-North-West have a great view of the majestic Kangchenjunga range. Adequate quilts and blankets were provided. Prices are in the budget range and extremely reasonable. Service: The staff members are warm, inviting and very helpful, always ready to serve your needs. Full marks on this department. Food: There is a restaurant which serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian (read chicken) fare. Food is decent enough but be warned that you may not get food of your choice. To make it easier on themselves the hotel tends to cater to a set menu and your options may be severely limited. The odd location ensures that you are left with no other food options. Also food can be quite expensive. On an average you will spend around Rs.*** per person per meal. On the whole this is a very decent place to stay in Ravangla. If peace and tranquility are your forte then don't look anywhere else!

The hotel is located a bit far away from the market - it's about 10-15 mins walk uphill while going to the market, but you will enjoy the walk through nature. However for a tourist, one must go & return from the market within daylight. Otherwise the scenic beauty around the hotel's location is brilliant. We totally loved the view, the calm surroundings & nature's serenity around the place. The room was clean. I haven't' clicked any pictures of the room but the room was very nice. I would like to get the same room when I revisit. Although there was power cut once in the evening, light came back within say 10 mins. The staff is polite & homely. We had dinner at the hotel - food preparation & serving was neat & clean. If you are looking forward to a peaceful holiday, this is the perfect place. It is value for money, really. We would definitely like to revisit Ravangla & stay at Zumthang.

Do you want enjoy your home at Himalayas? Then this is the right place. This is a budget hotel not too much amenities but still you find peace, happiness, joy and much more in this place. Atmosphere are very homely. A family run hotel. I would call it a home stay. Cuisine are so good specifically Momo and Chicken. I can visit again and again only for food. Location is a little bit far from hustle and bustle from Rabangla Town. Those who like quite and calm place will definitely love this location. If you visit I bet you will definitely like this place.

I stayed in Zumthang with family members of six. Zumthang in Ravangla may provide much needed peaceful break after Gangtok visit. From Many rooms and Balcony Icy Mountain peaks may be viewed. So if you are a peace lover, This may be a good stay. Hospitality is like "Home away from Home". A lady take care of the Hotel and takes care of your food. On demand she may provide best veg and non-veg food. Nearby to Hotels are Buddha smriti mark and NIT Sikkim. Buddha Smriti park is a must watch, which is just near to Zumthang.
