FlyDubai booked 50 Boeing 737-800 NG aircrafts at the Farnborough Air Show in June 2008, only weeks after it was set up in March. Boeing 737-800 features a high density all-economy class cabin layout and can carry 189 passengers without hassle. Around a year later after placing the order, in May 2009, the airlines received its first aircraft, which took off on 1st June to Beirut. FlyDubai was established with the mission to make travel safe, comfortable and affordable. The Government of Dubai took the initiative to set up the first low cost airlines of the city in March 2008.
