-
Who are these guidelines meant for:
- Students travelling outside India to study
- Anyone with a job in a foreign country
- Sportspersons and accompanying staff of the Indian contingent attending the International Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo in July-August this year
-
What do the new guidelines say?
- A competent authority will decide whether the above mentioned travellers are eligible for a 2nd dose of Covishield based on the following:
- Has a minimum of 28 days passed since the first Covishield dose?
- Does the person have admission offers or associated formal communications related to education?
- Is the person already studying in a foreign educational institution and has to return to that institution for continuing their education?
- Does the person have adequate proof related to any job interview calls or offer letters for taking up employment?
- Does the person have a nomination to participate in the Tokyo Olympic games?
- It is advisable that you use your passport as an ID document so that the passport number is printed on the certificate. However, if passport was not used at the time of administration of first dose, then details of the photo ID Card used for vaccination will be printed on the vaccination certificate and a mention of the passport on the vaccination certificate will not be insisted upon. Wherever necessary, the competent authority may issue another certificate linking the vaccination certificate with your passport number.
- This facility will be available to those who need to undertake international travel for the above mentioned purposes till 31st August, 2021.
