Backwater Villa

This is a homestay and not a hotel. I had filtered the search with swimming pool amenities and booked this hotel, and was disappointed. there was a back water swimming pond instead, with fishes which was not that good ambience. (mud water). :( first of all let me tell that the house was beautiful constructed and was spacious. and the house owners were humble. it was my mistake that I didn't see the photos properly before booking. but still, I am writing this so that others don't get mistaken. I expected a hotel with English speaking people , and "comfortable stay". but this was a homestay. and there were rules like we were told to leave our slippers outside the house, that made us little uncomfortable. more ever they couldn't welcome is properly as they didn't know English. we had said no to dinner at afternoon, in evening 5 we asked for dinner if it was possible and owners replied it is not possible and that we had to inform before. we started feeling uncomfortable and had to ask them for basic amenities like hot water, wifi password etc . Room was clean and nicely maintained, but without any view. The garden was actually a farm land for cultivating some plants , but you can't sit and relax there as you will have the trouble of mosquitos outside after evening 5. all and all, I would request the house caretakers to remove restaurant and swimming pool option in amenities, because it not true . And reduce the price. and people who wants to book this, it is a nice home away from home but strictly for "bed and breakfast". there is nothing much to do for whole day.

Had a great holiday with back water villa. The Villa's location is perfect ; we can enjoy the beauty of Pamba River. Lazing around and the most relaxing spot. Great place to distress oneself, surrounded by mother nature. Early morning is great as you see birds of all species in and around the backwaters. Staff was polite and willing to accommodate your needs. There is an in-house Ayurveda treatment centre which is great for those who really want to wind down from the daily rat race. Food served was authentic Kerala cuisine with peal spot fish pollichathu (fry) and sadiya. The fish where lively catched by us using fishing rod and we enjoyed it. The swimming pond was clean and natural, the water was cool. The owner arranged us a house boat ride through which we can see the beauty of Kuttanadu, we loved it. Totally secured for both couples and family. Will surely stay at back water villa next time when we are at alleppey.

Very good stay.Hospitality was excelent.The only drawback was the television was not functioning through out the stay.Nice view of Pamba river.Individual natural swimming pool.Clean rooms.A home away from home.

Such a beautiful villa with all modern amenities at a peace and calm village location. They service provided was outstanding with natural Kerala food. Ayurveda massage was arranged as per our request.
