Dhardo Retreat & Resort

Dhardo retreat and resort was a wonderful place to stay. This resort was located at 13.5 mile from Kalimpong, unlike what Google maps indicated. We were coming from Lava (not from the Kalimpong side) and there was no board facing the Lava side. So it was a little difficult to find the place. But once we arrived there, it was an awesome experience. The owner of this place is an artist. He personally painted some murals and there is reasonable attention to detail in the choice of things in the rooms. There was a big garden in front of the hotel and there was a lot of opportunity for my five-year-old to play, which is not typical of many hotels, where kids feel restricted inside the room while you are getting ready or resting etc. We ourselves enjoyed the garden. It had a big sturdy swing which brought out a little child inside me. The manager Mr. Yougal Mukhiya was very co-operative and entertained all our requests. He showed me around the resort. There is a bamboo house made almost completely out of bamboo and a suite room which were nice to see. The deluxe room in which we stayed was very good too. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my stay here. Please note that there is no resalimpong, in casetaurant in this resort/retreat. The manager arranges what we order with the help of his cooks. I did not stretch this opportunity to order what I like, so I cannot comment on how far the cooks will be able to handle requests for food.

if someone wants to have a holiday in wilderness and surrounded by nature this is the place. It is a small resort but well maintained. The rooms are quite specious neat and clean. Every thing provided in the room are in a very good shape. The blankets, Bed covers, curtains, are well maintained . The towels, utensils, provided are all well washed and clean. This is a rare thing that one finds in the hotels and resorts in the hills. The garden and surrounding is very well decorated with natural stuffs. The staffs are very warm and helpful. The food served is excellent. If one wants to visit the town can hire a settle taxi that is available from the road at the main entrance of the resort. Their is a small Art Gallery in the front building which has the reception. One must see it during the stay. Over all a great place for a retreat

Visited with my wife on March, 2016. Stayed there for two days and I must admit that the stay was there very comfortable and homely. The resort is a little bit away from the main town or market place but it does not matter because Kalimpong is not a place to troll around by feet. You need to hire a car for sight seeing. As it is bit away from the city, it is quite peaceful there. It has a surrounding garden and small restaurant. Staffs are very friendly. Rooms are good too. Though I visited with my wife a strongly feel that this place will be good for families too especially kids will enjoy the place as they can run all day long in the beautiful garden around. Sunrise and full moon night can also very beautifully seen from the glass door. Food was average. They can arrange car for sight seeing if you want.

i stayed here with my family for one day...overall experience is just AWESOME..i really like the mention the cordial and always helpful behaviour of the staffs..they'll give you all sorts of things and facilities which they have..food qlty is good but a little bit expensive( as it is hilly area its normal rate)..but which is the main attraction of Dhardo Retreat is its location and beautiful surroundings...i just loved this..bit far away from kalimpong ..actually the place is called Iccheygaon..but anyone who wants to enjoy nature peacefully surely love this place..I'll like to go there again and again...
