ILLAM HERITAGE HOME

Booked a room for three in order to stay for an enrolment function at the High Court. The hotel itself is located right next to Kacheripady Junction, and it's very easy to get to the High Court - one can either take a bus, or hire a rickshaw. Apart from that, the hotel had good facilities - the whole building is designed like a traditional 'Tharavad' type family home (in fact, I think it is an old building that was remodelled to serve the purpose of a hotel). For instance, lights are shaped like olds lanterns, the walls and ceilings are wooden, and there's plenty of architectural designs that reminisces the traditional feel of old houses in Kerala. Although, one tiny flaw which I recall was that some lights were dull and not bright enough, because of the antique design of the latern. But apart from that, the place was very neat, and comfortable for a day's stay. The breakfast is self-served in a small kitchen, but it was delicious. Overall, go for it if you want to spend time in a tradition-themed hotel where the look and feel reminds you of homes of an era gone by.

It was kind of decency stay. No toiletries were provided until asked for. There was no hot water and when tap was opened, muddy waters came out and had to wait for some time for the waters to get cleared. Towel provided looked old and faded out.

Good stay for the price range. Rooms are clean. Location is also good. Metro station, restaurants all are in walkable distance. Parking is available. Even though the bathroom were clean, it needed some maintenance as the building is bit old.

It's a home stay set in close proximity to various main points of ernakulam.. The ever helpful n friendly staff were more than willing to cater to our every need.. Food was great too.. Enjoyed my stay..
