My stay at Madpackers Manali in Old Manali was nothing short of magical! Nestled among apple orchards and surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks, this hostel is a haven for solo travelers, backpackers, and adventure seekers. From the vibrant community vibe to the breathtaking views, every moment here was unforgettable. Check-In & Staff: The check-in was smooth, and the staff – especially Dipesh, Minal, and Arun – made the experience exceptional. Their warmth and energy are contagious! Dipesh was quick to solve any issues, Minal organized amazing outdoor activities like meadow hikes, and Arun’s sarcasm and hospitality kept everyone entertained. They felt like friends, guiding us to hidden gems in Manali and ensuring we felt at home. Cleanliness & Facilities: The dorms were spotlessly clean, with comfortable bunk beds, colorful blankets, and spacious lockers (500 INR refundable deposit for RFID card). Each bed had a reading light and power socket, and the wooden flooring added a cozy touch. Bathrooms were well-maintained with hot showers, a blessing after chilly mountain days. The common areas, including a vibrant lounge and a garden with an outdoor fireplace, were perfect for socializing. The rooftop terrace offered jaw-dropping mountain views – sipping chai at sunrise was a highlight! Free Wi-Fi was reliable, great for workations or sharing those epic Himalayan selfies. Location: Tucked away in Old Manali’s serene village farms, Madpackers is a peaceful escape from the tourist crowds, yet just a 10-minute walk to Manu Temple and 14 minutes to Hidimba Devi Temple. The narrow path to the hostel adds to its charm, surrounded by cherry and apple trees. Local cafes like Drifters’ Cafe and the bustling Mall Road are easily accessible, making it ideal for exploring Old Manali’s laid-back vibe. Vibe & Atmosphere: Madpackers is a social backpacker’s dream! The communal spaces fostered instant connections with fellow travelers from around the world. Evening bonfires, movie nights, and group hikes created a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Solo travelers, like myself, felt instantly included, and the hostel’s pet dog added extra charm. It’s perfect for young adventurers seeking camaraderie and memorable experiences. Food & Dining: While the in-house cafe wasn’t always open (a minor downside during rainy weather), the nearby restaurants served delicious North Indian and continental meals. Guests can use the community kitchen to whip up their own dishes, which added to the homey feel. I recommend bringing a reusable water bottle, as suggested by other travelers, for convenience. Value for Money: At an average of ₹1,623/night, Madpackers offers incredible value for budget travelers. The facilities, location, and hospitality rival pricier accommodations, making it a steal for such a premium experience. Final Thoughts: Madpackers Manali turned my trip into an adventure I’ll never forget. The stunning Himalayan views, clean and cozy facilities, and the warm, vibrant community make it one of the best hostels in Old Manali. Whether you’re hiking to Solang Valley, chilling by the Beas River, or making lifelong friends, this is the place to be. I’ve already extended my stay once and can’t wait to return! I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The staff truly made the experience exceptional – they were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was providing local tips, arranging transport, or just having a chat, their politeness and warmth made me feel right at home. The common areas were perfect for meeting fellow travelers, and the hostel’s central location made exploring the city convenient. Overall, it’s a great spot for budget travelers looking for a comfortable and friendly environment. Highly recommended!

My experience at Madpackers is great. Food is good. Beds are comfortable. you sleep beside the window on the upper one (bunk beds), your first sight would be snow covered mountains, which is pretty nice to wake up with... But you should bring your own glass/keep your own bottle for drinking water... If you are a solo traveller or a woman, or group you can stay there, it is not far from city... If you like walking, you can reach there in 45 min from the Manali bus stop.....

the stay was very good and comfortable and the staff is great. specially the host Minal and Deepak both were very nice and great. I just came from that place but i am seriously missing this place madpackers. For me it was just like a family and i ❤ it enjoyed alot. I will plan soon to visit again and meet my new family. Thank you soo much guys missing the funn, enjoy, bonfire nights such a nice place to stay (Madpackers rocks) ❤❤❤❤
