The location is a little inside from the main road and the room is not so decent. During our stay there was a power failure at Matheran and this stay didn't have backup for the AC, it was scorching heat during April 22nd 2025. In house food was unavailable as the caretaker had to go out for some occasion. 2 minutes walk from main road and Toy train station.

I had a fantastic stay at Subhash’s homestay in Matheran last weekend! The property was clean, cozy, and well-equipped, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Subhash’s warm hospitality and helpful local tips made the experience even more enjoyable. The peaceful setting and thoughtful touches made it memorable. Highly recommend this place for a great stay in Matheran!

It is situated near the main market so easy access to the market.The view is the actual USP of the room. The interiors are very good and the bathroom comes with a bathtub. The host was very nice and got things arranged for us like hot water at night as hot water is accessible at a specific time. The room has power back up so no need to worry about power cuts. So the overall stay was very nice.

Title: Worst Stay Experience - Highly Misleading Description Review: 1. Location: The location is extremely poor, situated in a residential area resembling slums or chawl-like homes, much like Mumbai's Dharavi. The surroundings feel uncomfortable, with locals staring at you constantly. 2. No Reception or Safety: There is no reception, no safety door, and no formal check-in process. Good view from the room. But bathtub usage nearly impossible as hot water not available. Available only in the morning from 6 to 9 which becomes impossible to use. Great food available it was average

nice view from the room. the owner is good responds . Room is clean and spacious.
