The Golden Magnolia Homestay

It was the WORST experience of my life. On the second night of my stay there, I was woken up at 3:30 AM by a huge adult cockroach crawling over my face. There were 2 big adult cockroaches on my bed and 1 big adult cockroach on the floor. I killed all 3 cockroaches with my shoes and pushed them outside the room. I immediately alerted the hotel staff and called right then at 3:30 AM in the night. While the hotel staff was on the phone with the executive, I pointed out to him the cockroaches running around my room. I detected the smell of Baygon or some pesticide outside the room, so perhaps the hotel staff might have sprayed Baygon or some pesticide in the kitchen. The cockroaches came inside my room through the gap underneath the door. So it might well be that they were trying to escape. The hotel staff falsely claimed that the cockroaches came from the window sill, because I literally showed him that cockroaches were trying to get in through the door gap. I pointed this out to him while he was himself speaking on the phone with executive. It was horrible. Even beggars lying on the streets don't have cockroaches running over their body. This is the most unhygienic experience that a person can ever have. I had an exam the very morning and I couldn't even sleep properly for 3 hours. My room was changed but after all this hassle, the time was already around 5 AM. I had no pleasure in calling people at 3:30 in the night, but I had to. The executive offered me a complimentary breakfast the next morning, but I refused because the lack of hygiene was just pathetic. I had earlier ordered food from them, but I regretted it immediately after seeing the cockroaches. There were other issues as well, like the room was too hot and I was provided with a cooler only on the first morning of my stay, not on the first night itself. There was no lid of the commode in the bathroom of my previous room. I had to adjust with all such difficulties. But I never even felt the need to mention them because I adjust well. I never had complaints about any hotel in my life. The fact that there were cockroaches in a room was the only big issue. To summaries, it was a HELLISH experience. I hold the hotel responsible for such a terrible experience. Everything that I said above, plus the general lack of hygiene or the fact that the hotel staff seemed to possess an attitude like finding big cockroaches on your bed or over your face was not a big deal. I want nothing to do with this hotel ever. It was the single worst experience of my life.

Overall clean rooms but they should take more care about maintenance. Door (main as well bathroom) locks were not functioning properly. TV was there but it was not recharged though after asking they took care of it but there were no sports channel available. No geyser available in the bathroom and exhaust fan was broken. Personally I didn't like the pattern of the bathroom. No wifi available. In ground floor there was no arrangement for drinking water, had to call the caretaker every time to refill the bottles. Caretaker guy was available all time whenever I called him. Food prepared by him was not at all good though. I would suggest everyone to get your foods from outside. I do think that they have the potential to be the best in class but they should be more careful about maintenance. Overall it was good but they should be more careful about maintenance. Door locks are really necessary for those who travel with their families. Also more amenities (Geyser, wifi) should be included and fooding service needs to improved heavily.

First a fall, its not a hotel. It is a small guest house. One person is managing everything from check-ins to cleanliness. You can't expect one person to do everything perfectly. The rooms are not that clean, bathroom is quite small. Maintenance is required. The rooms are not clean, bathroom is very small. You will have to wait for some hours to get your room cleaned.
