Guidelines for Entry

NOTE: Since Bahrain is open for all Indians, irrespective of vaccination status, these guidelines apply to fully-vaccinated, partially vaccinated as well as non-vaccinated travellers.

Covid test rules:

It is not mandatory to carry a vaccine certificate to travel to Bahrain from India.

  • Eligible travellers must carry a negative RT-PCR test, conducted 72 hours before departure (test certificate must have a QR code & sample collection date/time). 
  • NOTE:Report must have a machine-readable QR code and open in PDF format.
  • After arrival, they must also take 2 mandatory self-paid COVID-19 PCR tests. First test on arrival at the airport, second on day 10 of the quarantine stay. The test package costs BD 36 and payment must be made through the BeAware app. Infants and children below 6 years of age are exempted from the tests. 

Quarantine Rules:

  • All arriving travellers must quarantine for 10 days either at a government designated facility listed by NHRA OR at home if they live in Bahrain (must show proof of residence) OR provide LMRA visa proof of their employment with NSH group (they have their own quarantine facility).
  • If the PCR test on day 10 is negative, travellers can exit quarantine. If positive, COVID treatment protocols will follow.

  • They are not required to quarantine.

Entry rules for vaccinated travellers from countries with mutual recognition (Hungary, Cyprus, Greece and Israel):

  • After arrival at Bahrain International Airport, they must fill and sign a Vaccination Certification Card that keeps a record of all their vaccination details.
  • They are exempted from on-arrival PCR test and quarantine. 
  • Maximum allowed transit time at Bahrain International Airport is 12 hours.

Other Things to Know

  • Travellers must carry a negative PCR test (paper or digital copy) with a QR code conducted no more than 48 hours before departure. The test should mention the date and time when the sample was drawn. Infants and children below the age of 6 are exempt. 
  • PCR tests without a machine-readable QR code and open in PDF format shall not be accepted. 
  • PCR tests without QR codes shall not be accepted. 
  • They will have to take a mandatory PCR test upon arrival and another PCR test on the 10th day after arrival. Infants and children below the age of 6 are exempt. 
  • They must download the Be Aware Bahrain application and where possible, pay for the PCR test (BD 36) before boarding their flight to BAH to avoid any delays on arrival. 
  • All arriving travellers must quarantine for 10 days either at a government-designated facility listed by NHRA OR at home if they live in Bahrain (must show proof of residence) OR provide LMRA visa proof of their employment with NSH group (they have their own quarantine facility).
  • If the PCR test on day 10 is negative, travellers can exit quarantine. If positive, COVID treatment protocols will follow.
  • NOTE:In compliance with the Air Bubble arrangement with India, only Bahraini citizens, residents and Indian passport holders with valid Bahraini residency visas can board flights to Bahrain. Anyone who has transited through these 4 countries (Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal) at any point within 14 days of their intended arrival in Bahrain, are prohibited from entering Bahrain. Bahraini citizens and residents are exempted from this. 

Air India

Who can travel? 

  • Entry rules for those travelling from India
    • Only Bahraini citizens, residents, GCC citizens who do not require a visa. 

Other Things to Know

  • Travellers must carry a negative test certificate with a QR code for a PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure. Children below the age of 6 are exempt.
  • They will have to take a mandatory PCR test upon arrival and another PCR test on the 10th day after arrival. Infants and children below the age of 6 are exempt.
  • Passengers fully vaccinated in GCC countries are not required to carry pre-departure negative RT PCR test.
  • All arriving travellers must quarantine for 10 days either at a government-designated facility listed by NHRA OR at home if they live in Bahrain (must show proof of residence).
  • Passengers must present proof of a prepaid reservation in their name for a designated quarantine facility before boarding a flight to Bahrain.

Guidelines for Entry

NOTE: Since Bangladesh is open for all Indians, irrespective of vaccination status, these guidelines apply to fully-vaccinated, partially vaccinated as well as non-vaccinated travellers.

Covid test rules: It is not mandatory to carry a vaccine certificate to travel to Bangladesh from India.

Passengers must carry a negative RT-PCR test during their flight. Sample for test must have been collected within 72 hours before departure. This does not apply to passengers younger than 10 years.

Quarantine Rules: 14 days of strict quarantine at home/place of stay, after arrival.

Kinds of visa allowed: Travel to Bangladesh is open for all Indian visa holders

Other Important Information:

  • Bangladesh has classified countries under different groups (A, B and C). Each of these groups have different entry rules, as mentioned below:
  • Rules for Group C countries:
    • All countries which are not mentioned above in Group A and B fall are classified as Group C countries. India is a part of group C.
    • Irrespective of vaccination status, all travellers from Group C countries (including India) can enter Bangladesh.
    • They must quarantine at home/ place of stay for 14 days, after arrival.
    • Travellers flying in from these countries can transit via the countries in Group A & B, provided they do not exit the transit airport.

    • All Indian nationals with a valid visa, irrespective of their vaccination status, can travel to Bangladesh.

Hong Kong

NEW guidelines for all travellers arriving in India from 01 Dec, 2021:

  • With effect from 1 December, 2021, Government of India has issued separate guidelines for those arriving from ‘Countries-at-risk’ and those arriving from all other countries.
  • Depending on your country of arrival, please check the relevant guidelines from the various sections below.
  • Countries-at-risk list includes: Europe (all countries), United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong and Israel.

Special guidelines for travellers arriving from the ‘Countries-at-risk’ list:

  • Submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portalbefore travelling and include the last 14 days of their travel history. 
  • Upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report on the same portal. This test should have been conducted within 72 hours before boarding.
  • Submit a signed declaration with respect to authenticity of the report. Travellers will be liable for criminal prosecution if they give incorrect information regarding their health and travel status.
  • Must take a COVID-19 test after arrival at the point of arrival (self-paid). They will have to wait at the airport for the test results before exiting airport/taking a connecting flight.
  • If they test negative, they must home quarantine for 7 days and take another test on day 8. If still negative, they must further self-monitor their health for another 7 days.  
  • If any of the tests are positive, their samples will be sent for genome sequencing and they will be required to stay in a separate isolation facility and follow all the treatment and quarantine rules as defined by the local health and state authorities.
  • NOTE: Children under 5 years of age are exempted from both pre & post arrival testing. However, if found symptomatic for COVID-19 on arrival or during home quarantine period, they must undergo testing and treated as per treatment protocols.

 Special guidelines for travellers arriving from all countries NOT mentioned above:

  • Submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before travelling and include the last 14 days of their travel history.
  • Upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report on the same portal. This test should have been conducted within 72 hours before boarding.
  • Submit a signed declaration with respect to authenticity of the report. Travellers will be liable for criminal prosecution if they give incorrect information regarding their health and travel status.
  • Around 2% of all the travellers arriving from these countries will have to take a test on arrival. The decision on which traveller will be tested, will be done on a random basis, as per the airline and airport authority decisions. The traveller will have to pay for the test.
  • Once they exit the airport, ALL travellers (irrespective of whether they are tested or not) must self-monitor their health for 14 days.

  • Further guidelines issued by Maharashtra: The above rules are applicable for all travellers entering Maharashtra EXCEPT the ones arriving from ‘ultra-risk’ countries i.e South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Eswatini:
    • Anyone arriving from/transiting via these ‘ultra-risk’ countries must undergo mandatory 7 days of institutional quarantine and take an RT-PCR test on day 1 of arrival and another on day 7 of quarantine. If found positive, they will be transferred to a hospital. If negative, they must undergo further 7 days of home quarantine.
    • If any traveller is taking a connecting flight to any other place in India (without leaving the airport) they must take a test at the first airport of arrival in Maharashtra. If negative, they can proceed for connecting flight. 
    • If anyone tests positive, they will have to undergo institutional quarantine and follow treatment protocols set in place by local health authorities.
  • Information for on-arrival test at Delhi airport: It is mandatory to pre-book the on-arrival COVID test by applying on www.newdelhi.airport.in. The regular RT-PCR tests costs INR 500 and report will be generated within 6 hours. Raid RT-PCR test costs INR 3500 and report will be generated within 90 minutes.

Japan

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

  • Travel to Japan is currently closed for anyone who has been in India in the last 14 days unless certain exceptional circumstances are found.. These exceptions include: Permanent Residents (PR), spouse/child of a Japanese national or Japanese PR and Long Term Residents ONLY if they have a ‘Re-entry Permission Letter’ issued by the embassy.

Can non-Indians travel?

Covid test rules:

Guidelines for Entry

  • The Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka directive of 28th Sept 2021 has removed the list of Restricted Countries.

  • It is advisable to obtain the Online ETA by the tourists prior to their arrival to avoid unnecessary delays at the airport.

  • All passengers except Sri Lankan nationals and dual citizenship holders are required to fill the arrival cards.

  • This is applicable for all travellers entering Sri Lanka who are 2 years and above in age.
  • The PCR test result (negative) must either be in English or a certified translation of the document/test report along with the original.
  • Travellers with a history of COVID-19 infection with a verifiable report (diagnosis card or verifiable evidence or positive PCR/Rapid Antigen Test) during the past 03 months may submit a negative COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Report (in English) done within 48 hours before their departure flight.
  • Fully vaccinated travellers will be authorized to land in Sri Lanka after 14 days of the final vaccine. On arrival, they must produce the original copy of the vaccination certificate along with a certified copy of English language translation.
  • For children between 12 to 18 years: Two weeks must have passed since obtaining at least a single dose of Pfizer vaccine to be considered as ‘fully vaccinated’.
  • Unvaccinated children between 12 -18 years of fully vaccinated parents must undergo Day 1 PCR testing at a Ministry of Health approved laboratory at Katunayake or at a Government Quarantine Centre (for Sri Lankans and Dual Citizens)/Quarantine Hotel/Safe & Secure Certified Level 1 Hotel. If the Day 1 PCR report is negative, they will be released from quarantine and will be allowed to go home with fully vaccinated parents.

  • No quarantine if the on-arrival test is negative. Must remain in hotel/residence till the test result is out.

Kinds of visa allowed:

  • Travel to Dubai is open for all visa holders from India including those with short-stay tourist visas and employment visas. 
  • Indian Nationals travelling to or from India via Dubai can get visa on arrival in Dubai for a maximum of 14 days in case they:
    • are carrying a visitor visa valid for at least 6 months or a green card issued by the United States, or
    • have a residence visa valid for at least 6 months issued by the United Kingdom or European Union.

Emirates

Who can travel?

  • From 30th August, 2021, travel to Dubai is open for holders of all types of visas i.e. employment visa, newly issued residence visa, short stay/long stay visa, visit visa, visa on arrival.

Other things to remember:

  • UAE residence visa holders will require GDRFAand ICA approval.
  • All travellers must have a valid COVID 19 test certificate issued within 48 hours before flight departure. Only COVID 19 PCR test reports from certified labs that issue a QR code linked to the original report will be accepted.
  • They must complete a COVID‑19 Rapid PCR test 6 hours before the departure of their flight, with a QR code.
  • They must also complete a COVID‑19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai. 
  • The following travellers do not have to carry a pre-departure PCR test:
    • UAE Nationals (they must undergo a COVID‑19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai). 
    • Those accompanying a 1st degree UAE nationals' relative or domestic workers.
    • Domestic workers escorting a UAE national sponsor during travel.
    • Children under the age of 12 and passengers who have a moderate or severe disabilities. Moderate or severe disability includes neurological disorders and intellectual or developmental disabilities. For example: Acute spinal cord injury, Alzheimer's disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Ataxia, Autism spectrum, Bell's palsy, Brain tumours, Cerebral aneurysm, Cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy and seizures.
    • All other passengers, including those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired or physically challenged must hold a negative COVID‑19 RT‑PCR test certificate as per the requirements.
  • Transit passengers must fulfil all restrictions of their destination country. They must also carry a negative COVID 19 PCR test certificate for a test taken with 72 hours before departure.

FlyDubai

Who can travel?

  • From 30th August, 2021, travel from India to Dubai is open for all types of visa and/or entry permissions granted by the appropriate authority in the United Arab Emirates (i.e. employment visa, short stay/long stay visa, visit visa, residence visa newly issued).

Other Things to Remember

  • Travellers must carry a valid negative COVID-19 test certificate (RT-PCR), the sample of which is taken within 48 hours before departure time of the last direct flight to Dubai, from an ICMR approved laboratory. Certificate must have a QR code 
  • They must also present a rapid PCR test report that should be based on molecular diagnostic testing intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid for SARS-COV-2 viral RNA; conducted at the departure airport 6 hours before departure with a machine readable QR code.
  • Holders of residence visas must present an approval granted by GDRFA or ICA. 
  • Those younger than 12 years of age and those with moderate to severe disabilities are exempt from PCR testing.
  • UAE nationals are not required to take a PCR test before returning to Dubai, regardless of the destination they are coming from and the time spent there. UAE nationals will be tested on arrival in Dubai.
  • Exemption from PCR-testing before arriving in Dubai is also extended to:
    • Inbound passengers accompanying the first-degree relative of a UAE national
    • Domestic workers being accompanied by a UAE national sponsor. 
  • These exempted passengers must be travelling on the same flight as the relative or sponsor.
  • Transit passengers travelling from the above countries must hold a valid negative COVID-19 test certificate (RT-PCR), the sample of which is taken within 72 hours before departure time of the last direct flight to Dubai, from an ICMR approved laboratory. Certificate must have a QR code and meet any entry requirement of any further transit or final destination. If the RT-PCR Test requirement of the destination country is for a shorter period, then 72 hours in such cases destination country test requirement will apply. 
  • All travellers must report for check-in at least 06 hours prior to departure time.

Etihad

Who can travel?

  • Travel to Abu Dhabi is now open for all travellers.

Quarantine and Testing Rules

  • All travellers must take a test 48 hours before departure. They must register via the ICA smart travel service.  If transiting Abu Dhabi, they will continue to need a test 72 hours before departure depending on their final destination and ICA registration is not required. 
     NOTE: Anyone travelling from New Delhi can now register, pre-book a slot & pay for a Rapid PCR test before reaching the airport by clicking here. This will help reduce the waiting time at check-in. The slot must be booked between 4 - 6 hours prior to departure. Please choose the ‘Rapid PCR’ option only and not ‘RT PCR’.
  • Vaccinated travellers need not quarantine in Abu Dhabi upon arrival. They must take 2 more COVID tests on days 6 and 9 of arrival in Abu Dhabi.

Who can travel?

Following travellers are allowed from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka:

  • Education sector staff, including teachers of universities, colleges, schools and institutes.
  • Students currently studying in UAE.
  • Humanitarian cases who have valid visas (for family reunion).
  • Governmental staff of Federal and local entities.
  • Long-term visa holders (Golden visa)
  • Diplomats

Other Things to Remember

  • Travellers must register on the below websites prior to departure:
  • UAE residents residing in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain arriving from all other countries must visit uaeentry.ica.gov.aebefore booking a flight to verify their entry status. They must carry a photocopy of the passport and UAE resident visa. No prior approval is required if resident of Sharjah or any other Emirate.
  • Those arriving from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka must take a COVID-19 PCR test, conducted within 48 hours before departure. They will be required to conduct a rapid test at the airport before departure. Upon arrival, they will be re-tested at the airport.
  • UAE Nationals and children below 12 years are exempt from the test.

Indigo-Dubai:

Only the following categories will be allowed entry:

  • Holders of all type of visa and/or entry permission granted by the appropriate authority in the United Arab Emirates (i.e., valid resident visa, employment visa, short stay/long stay visa, visit visa, residence visa newly issued).
  • Visa on Arrival is available for those with a visitor visa or a green card issued by USA and for those with a residence visa issued by UK/EU

Testing & Quarantine Rules:

  • Pre-departure test:It is mandatory to carry a negative RT-PCR certificate in printed form from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) issued no more than 48 hours before departure of the last direct flight to Dubai. The certificate must be signed and stamped by relevant authorities and must only be in English or Arabic. Handwritten certificates shall not be permitted. 48 hours is calculated from the time of sample collection. The negative RT-PCR certificate must have a QR code on it linking it to the original test report and must have the date and time of sample collection and the test result mentioned accurately. Anyone without a QR code on the certificate shall be denied boarding at the origin station. 
  • All travellers transiting Dubai must carry a negative PCR certificate in printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) issued no more than 72 hours before departure of the last direct flight to Dubai or less as per the requirements of the final destination. 
  • The following DO NOT have to carry a pre-departure COVID test
    • Children under the age of 12 years.
    • Customers escorting first degree relative of UAE national.
    • Domestic labour escorting a UAE national sponsor during travel.
    • UAE-Nationals/UAE-residents visa holder, who have completed 6 months after recovering from COVID-19, subject to presenting a certificate that says they have completing the quarantine period issued from official entities in the UAE.
  • On-arrival test: Travellers must also undergo a rapid PCR test at least 6 hours before departure. 

Registration Rules:

  • All UAE residents who have Dubai issued residence visa must obtain GDRFA approvalbefore travelling. The approval should be issued on or after 05th August 2021.
  • All UAE residents with valid residence visa must obtain ICA approvalor register on the ICA Smart UAE app (download Android & iOS versions here). The approval should be issued on or after 5th August, 2021.
  • They also need to upload their Emirates ID number, passport, and nationality hereto verify the authenticity of their travel. To be able to travel, they must show a green status against their registration details on above website.
  • NOTE: Those travelling on tourist visas DO NOT require GDRFA or ICA approval.

Indigo - Sharjah

Only the following categories will be allowed entry:

  • Travellers holding all type of visa and/or entry permission granted by appropriate authority in the United Arab Emirates with valid proof of WHO approved vaccination and pre-approval from the Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship (https://ica.gov.ae) or GDRFA (i.e., valid resident visa, employment visa, short stay/long stay visa, visit visa, residence visa newly issued)
  • Medical force/staff including Doctors, Nurses and Medical Technicians whether vaccinated or not vaccinated
  • Staff/employees of educational sector, including professors and teachers, those who teaches at Universities, Colleges, Schools, and Institutions in the UAE whether vaccinated or not vaccinated
  • Students who are currently studying in the UAE, whether vaccinated or not vaccinated.

  • All UAE residents who have obtained the required vaccination doses in the UAE and completed 14 days after the 2nd dose must submit the vaccination certificate/card on the ICA portal. 
  • Anyone transiting Sharjah must carry a negative RT-PCR certificate in printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a certified designated laboratory which is available on https://www.icmr.gov.in/issuedno more than 72 hours before departure of the last direct flight or less as per the requirements of the final destination. The certificate issued shall be duly signed and stamped by relevant authorities and must only be in English or Arabic. Handwritten certificates shall not be permitted. 72 hours is calculated from the time of sample collection. The negative RT-PCR certificate must have a QR code linking it to their original test report and must have the date and time of sample collection and the test result mentioned accurately. Who can travel?

  • A holder of valid UAE resident visa, who has obtained the required vaccination doses in the UAE and completed 14 days after the second dose and holds a vaccination card issued from a medical institution in the UAE, including the vaccine certificate available in the smart application(s) of Government Medical entities in the UAE.
  • Members of the medical force/staff including doctors, nurses and medical technicians (whether vaccinated or not).
  • Staff/employees of educational sector, including professors and teachers, those who teaches at universities, colleges, schools and institutions in the UAE (whether vaccinated or not).
  • Students who are currently studying in the UAE (whether vaccinated or not).
  • Those who are holding a valid visa, on humanitarian grounds and/or cases (i.e. family reunion). They are eligible whether vaccinated or not.
  • Employees/staff of local and federal government entities (whether vaccinated or not).

Other Things to Know:

  • All categories of travellers must comply with the following rules:
    • They must hold a VALID Negative COVID-19 test certificate that is issued within 48 hours from the time of collecting the sample. Certificate must have a QR code.
    • They must take a PCR test at the arriving airport. 
    • They must have a Rapid PCR test report that should be based on molecular diagnostic testing intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid for SARSCOV-2 viral RNA; conducted at the departure airport prior to 4 hours of departure by one of the specialized devices such as but not limited to: Abbott’s ID Now, Roche Liat. Antigens Test or any other tests will not be accepted
    • All passengers arriving in UAE must download and activate the following apps: UAE Fast Track app, and ICA app (Federal Authority of Identity and Citizenship). 
    • They will undergo further PCR testing upon arrival at the Dubai airport. 
  • Note: Travellers flying from India to UAE must reach their departure airport at least 6 hours before departure. As per the entry requirement of UAE, a rapid test will be conducted for every passenger at the respective Indian departure airport. Test counters will start 4 hours before departure time and close 2 hours before departure.

Who can travel?

  • From 30th August, 2021, travel to Dubai is open for holders of all types of visas i.e. employment visa, short stay/long stay visa, visit visa, newly issued residence visa etc.

Qatar Airways

Who can travel?

  • From 12th July 2021, Qatar will permit entry to travellers holding tourist or family visas, who are fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognized by the Ministry of Public Health.
  • From 2nd August, 2021, all travelers who have been vaccinated with one of the MoPH recognized vaccines or those who have recovered outside Qatar will be subject to 10 days hotel quarantine This does not apply to transit passengers.
  • Indian nationals can get a free tourist visa upon arrival for a period of 30 days, which can be extended for a similar period. They must be fully vaccinated (Covishield only).
  • Other Things to Remember:

    • From 2nd August, 2021, the following new rules come into force for travel to Qatar:
    • Qatari Citizens and Residents who have been fully vaccinated or have recovered in the State of Qatar would be subject to 2 days of hotel quarantine. They must undergo a PCR test on day 02 and if the result is negative, they can exit quarantine.
    • Qatari Citizens, Residents and Visitors i.e. all travellers who have been vaccinated abroad with one of the Ministry of Public Health recognized vaccines or those who have recovered outside Qatar will be subject to 10 days hotel quarantine to be booked through Discover Qatar.
    • Qatari Citizens and Residents who are not immunized will be subject to 10 days of hotel quarantine.
    • Entry is not permitted for tourists and visitors who are not immunized/vaccinated.
    • Eligible travellers must have a valid passport for at least six months and confirmed return/onward ticket
    • The arriving passenger must carry a minimum cash amount of USD 1400 or a valid credit card (same applies for an entire family).
    • Must have a certificate confirming negative PCR test completed during the 72 hours from the time of arrival.
    • Must register on the Ehteraz platform and obtain the approval of Ministry of Public Health before travelling.
    • These rules do not apply to passengers who are transiting Qatar without a break in journey.
    • Final decision will be the local authorities up on arrival at Hamad International Airport.

    Indigo

    Who can travel?

    • Qatari Nationals, their spouses, children and companions.
    • Permanent Residency card holders.
    • GCC Nationals who are currently QID holders/Non QID holders/Non-Resident.
    • Family visitors, business travellers, leisure travellers with pre-approved visa.
    • Foreign diplomats on mission to the State of Qatar, holders of Administrative IDs and staff of International Organizations.

    What are the testing guidelines?

    • Travellers must carry a negative PCR certificate in printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) issued no more than 72 hours before departure of the last direct flight to Doha. The certificate issued shall be duly signed and stamped by relevant authorities and must only be in English. Hand written certificates shall not be permitted. 72 hours is calculated from the time of sample collection.

    What are the quarantine guidelines?

    • Resident Permit holders shall be exempted from quarantine if fully vaccinated with approved vaccines. Accompanying unvaccinated children (from 0 to 17 years) shall be required to undergo 10 days of home quarantine.
    • Resident Permit holders and their accompanying children shall be required to undergo compulsory 10 days of hotel quarantine if unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or vaccinated but not completed 14 days after second dose. Such travellers must be in possession of a confirmed hotel reservation in one of the designated quarantine hotels for a period of minimum 10 days.
    • The designated quarantine hotels can booked through Discover Qatar before arrival.
    • Travellers aged 12 years and above who are travelling for family visits, business or tourism purposes shall be allowed entry and be exempted from quarantine if they are fully vaccinated by a WHO and Qatar MoPH approved vaccine i.e., those who have received both doses and completed 14 days after second dose.
    • Children in the age group of 0 to 11 years travelling for the purpose of family visit, business or tourism shall not be permitted entry into Qatar.
    • Unvaccinated adults and children travelling for the purpose of family visits, business and or tourism shall not be permitted entry into Qatar.
    • List of approved vaccines are Pfizer-BioNTech/Moderna/AstraZeneca/Johnson & Johnson/Covishield.
    • Citizens and residents who have recovered from a previous infection within the last 12 months are exempted from quarantine upon return from their travel abroad if they were asymptomatic and their PCR test result was negative. This rule applies to individuals diagnosed in Qatar or to those who were diagnosed in any GCC member state and received at least 1 dose of the MOPH-Qatar recognized vaccine, provided they submit a certificate detailing the previous infection and recovery issued by their local GCC state health authority

    Other Things to Remember:

    • Exceptional return permit is no longer required for Qatar Residence Cards holders unless they have spent more than 180 days outside Qatar.
    • Visa on arrival is not available and anyone seeking the same is not allowed to travel.
    • All travellers shall be required to register on the Ehteraz website at least 12 hours before their flight and upload the required official documents. In return, they shall be issued a travel authorization which must be presented at the time of boarding and landing. They must also download and register on the EHTERAZ app.

  • Stranded nationals/residents of Rwanda, foreign nationals destined for Africa and transiting through Rwanda or spouses of these persons, whether accompanying or otherwise.
  • Any Indian national or national of Nepal or Bhutan destined for any country in Africa and holding a valid visa for the destination country. It would be for the airlines concerned to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian/ Nepalese/Bhutanese nationals to enter the destination country with the particular visa category before issue of ticket / boarding pass to the Indian/ Nepalese/Bhutanese passenger.
  • Seamen of foreign nationalities and Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping. Seamen should be destined to countries of Africa only.

  • Only those with a negative PCR COVID-19 test certificate taken no more than 120 hours before their initial flight can travel to Rwanda.

  • All travellers arriving or transiting through Rwanda will be screened upon entry and required to take a second RT-PCR test to confirm the negative results of the test done prior to arrival.
  • All travellers are required to wait 24 hours for the results of their COVID-19 test in a designated transit hotel.
  • After the travellers reach their designated hotels, they will be tested for COVID-19 and there will be a medical team to assist for a total cost of 60 USD (includes 50 USD for the test and a medical service fee of 10 USD). Test results will be received by SMS or email, and the turnaround time for results is 24 hours from the time a sample is collected. Upon receiving a negative test result, travellers will be invited to check out or may extend their stay in the same hotel at applicable hotel rates.

All those travelling via RwandAir, please note:

  • Indian Passport holders are allowed to exit Mumbai on below mentioned visas:
    • Tourist Visas: Approved by the country of visit along with OK to Board.
    • Business Visas: Allowed, provided passenger has confirmed return ticket and hotel stay.
    • Work Permit: Allowed, provided passenger carries proper Work Visa and supplementing letters of his/her employment.
    • Residence Permit/ Residence ID Card: Allowed to exit Mumbai if holding residence visas or resident ID card.
    • Foreign Passport holders are allowed to exit Mumbai if they are returning back to their home country. Immigration will check if the Indian Visa is valid. If the visa has expired, then passengers will have to apply for an extension.
    • A COVID-19 Test is mandatory for all passengers arriving to or departing from Mumbai. The test should be performed in an approved lab and the report should contain ICMR Nbr, RTPCR, COVID negative result. It should also be stamped and signed by the authorised signatory. Handwritten test reports will not be accepted.
    • On arrival in Mumbai:
    • Passengers will need to carry a negative COVID-19 report. The test should be performed 72 hours prior. Any test done further than 72 hours wouldn’t be accepted and the passengers will have to perform the test again on arrival and the same would take more than 8-10 hours and the passengers will have to wait at the airport till then.
    • All passengers have to download Aarogya Setu App also on arrival.
    • Passengers can also upload their COVID negative report on www.newdelhiairport.in and select the option of Air Suvidha. Once uploaded, there will be a reference NBR which has to be given to the MCGM on arrival in Mumbai. (This is handy for passengers who are on business visit as they will be returning back and wouldn’t be required to quarantine themselves.)
    • On departure from Mumbai:
    • Passengers will need to carry valid COVID negative reports. The date of the report will depend on the guidelines issued by the country of visit. (Some countries need the report within 72 hours or 96 hours etc)
    • They also need a Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) COVID-19 test with sample taken within 120 hours of departure (meaning travellers must be tested and get results within 5 days of their first flight). Other tests, such as Rapid Diagnostics Test (RDTs), are not accepted.
    • Passengers departing Rwanda can book for a Covid-19 test on http://www.rbc.gov.rw/, or by calling +250 788 633 948; +250 788 422 287 (a test fee will apply).
    • Passengers are required to book a hotel for 24 hours from the list of designated hotels https://www.rbc.gov.rw/travel/src/Passengers%20Info%20-%20Designated%20hotels.pdf and complete the electronic Passenger Locator Form (PLF) available on Rwanda Biomedical Center website. https://rbc.gov.rw/travel/
    • ​A second test will be conducted at the designated hotel and results will be available within 24 hours. Passengers must remain in the designated hotel as they await test results.

Who can travel?

  • The French embassy is allowed to issue visas for all categories.
  • Passengers who already hold existing C type valid visa; 3 or 5 years’ validity can travel without restriction as far as they are fully vaccinated with an EMA approved vaccination (Pfizer-BioNtech, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Covishield).
  • They must have had 2 Covishield injections and the second one must have been taken at least 7 days before travelling. 
  • These passengers need to provide 2 mandatory documents:
    • Proof of vaccination status
    • A sworn statement attesting to the absence of COVID-19 infection symptoms and any contact with a confirmed COVID -19 case.

What are the quarantine and testing rules?

  • Mandatory 7-day quarantine on arrival for passengers aged 12 years and older. They must also get a test done on arrival.
  • This does not apply to:
    • Those who present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate demonstrating that at least 28 days have elapsed since the first dose of Janssen vaccine or 7 days have lapsed since the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech, AstraZeneca or Moderna vaccine or 14 days since the first dose of these vaccines if the passenger holds proof that they previously have been infected with Covid-19.
    • Minors (regardless of age), provided they are accompanying adult passengers who are holding a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate. 
  • Note from Air France: The restrictions are dynamic and may change without prior information. All passengers should check the entry regulations at their end.

Who can travel?

  • Visa holders with NIE certificate whether obtained digitally or stamped on the visa.

Covid test rules:

  • Pre-departure test: Mandatory to have a negative COVID-19 test report (with QR code) conducted within 1 day or 24 hours before departure. This is regardless of vaccination status or citizenship. Anyone who has recovered from COVID-19 can travel with documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (i.e. carry positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before the flight’s departure AND a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that they are cleared for travel). Those who wish to reduce their quarantine duration can take a test within 3-5 days of arrival (details below). Please check this linkto read the entire government order on testing rules. It is mandatory for all passengers to carry COVID test reports which have a QR code on them that can be scanned at the airport.
  • Post-arrival test: Travellers are advised to get a viral test 3-5 days after travel and quarantine indoors for a full 7 days after travel. Even if they test negative, they must undergo home quarantine for the full 7 days.
  • Information for those who have recovered from COVID: CDC (Centre for Disease Control & Prevention) does not recommend getting tested again in the 3 months after a positive viral test as long as the traveller is not showing any symptoms. So anyone who has a positive viral test in the last 3 months and has met the criteria to end isolation, has a copy of their positive result and has a letter from a doctor/ health department saying they are clear for travel can board flights to US. Quarantine Rules:

  • 10 days of home quarantine without an on-arrival test. 7 days of home-quarantine with an on-arrival test. More information here.

Who can travel?

  • Entry criteria for Indian nationals:
    • Indian nationals with all valid visas, can travel from India to UK, Ireland and Cayman Islands on these flights.
    • Indian nationals are not allowed to travel further to any countries, unless their spouse is a foreign national or they are a seaman travelling with authorised documentation from the Ministry of Shipping.
  • Entry criteria for nationals from UK and other countries:
    • Stranded UK nationals or residents can travel.
    • All other nationalities transiting through UK or spouses of these people, whether accompanying or not, can travel. Passengers travelling to Europe and USA, please note: ONLY passport holders and nationals of the destination country can board these flights.

    • Travellers must have a negative RT-PCR test report with a QR code to board flights departing from India. Test must have been taken 72 hours before departure.
