Places to visit
Belgaum has many attraction points. Gokal falls, Belgaum fort and Amboli village are some of the most visited tourist destinations in the city. Located at a distance of 6kms from Gokak town on Ghataprabha river, Gokak falls is a picturesque sight. The waterfall has a horseshoe shape at the crest. Here, you can also see monuments from Chalukya era and an old river-front temple dedicated to Lord Mahalingeshwara. 
Belgaum Fort is another popular tourist attraction with a rich history. The fort has huge walls, parapets, battlements and a  deep moat which is given by Yakub Ali Khan of Bijapur Sultanate. 
Amboli is a beautiful hill-station situated 67.9 km away from Belgaum with lots of natural springs and waterfalls. It is known to receive a heavy amount of rainfall. It is believed that the place has 108 shiva temples, out of which only a few are discovered.   Kittur Fort and Palace, Jamboti hills and Shri Ramkrishna Mission Ashram are other popular tourist destinations here.

Belgaum or Belagavi Airport ( IXG is located 10 km east of the city in Sambra village. It is the oldest airport in North Karnataka and is also known by the name of Sambra airport. There are many prominent airlines connecting Belgaum with these cities such as  Indigo, Spicejet, Air India and Alliance Air . Belagavi Railway Station is the main railway station serving Belgaum.
