Backpackers Hostel Darjeeling

Theres a small eatery on the ground floor called Benu's little kitchen. I found it quite comfortable to park my motorbike in front of the hostel. The only discomfort I felt was the smell from the nearby fish shops because Im a vegetarian. The hostel is quite warm. Theres a washing machine at the top to wash your clothes. If you are an individual ask to stay in the tent if you want to keep to yourself and not socialise all that much. Everything is quite accessible but if access is your concern then you might require a Revett and not this. I had a bike so I could move easily. I stayed at Benu’s Homestay during a deeply personal road trip across India, and this place offered exactly what I didn’t know I needed—peace, simplicity, and a feeling of being allowed to just be. The tent setup was surprisingly cozy, and waking up to the crisp Darjeeling air made everything feel lighter. Benu and the family were kind without being intrusive—just the right balance for someone like me who values solitude. If you’re not just traveling for photos and filters but for reflection, rest, or recalibration, this is your place. No noise, no drama—just a quiet corner of the hills where you can hear yourself again.

First and foremost, don't follow the google maps link to the hostel. Just search Benu's homestay in Golai Bazar, Lebong and you will find your place. The hostel is good for the price. Good blankets, clean bathrooms and nice food. I was hooked on to Roti Sabzi and omelette of Benu's kitchen. The location of the hostel but put few people off as it is 10-12 km away from Darjeeling city, but if you rent a bike or a scooty that won't be a problem. Lastly, for your information, Lebong market closes by 7 pm sharp. So you have to return by 6:30 to hostel if you are roaming around in Darjeeling. One tip: You must visit the Lebong sunrise view point(I ♥️ Lebong) to catch the sunrise instead of Tiger Hill. It is in proximity to the hostel. It's a must visit place. You may ask Mr. Agni to know how to go there. Economical, good homely food, off beat places nearby

The hostel is located in Lebong where easily you can get the transportation. It's a cozy place I had a great time here. It's a good place to stay. The view from the hostel is beautiful and scenic so you can enjoy your cup of tea with the view. The host is lovely and staff are friendly. Anyone who is willing to visit and stay can stay here they'll have a good time. thanks :)

The food was homemade and worth the money. A scenic view from the terrace and dining area. The taxi is available from Darjeeling main market to lebong only till 7pm approx after that you have to walk/climb 2kms on sloppy road to reach the mall road and chowrasta. The dormitory was cleaned and hygienic. Washrooms were also clean. WiFi was also available with good speed.
