Emarald Wild West Wayanad

Staying at emarald western ghats resort was truly remarkable experience and will be cherished through my life(stayed there for 3 nights in first week of Jan2016, and is one of the best times to visit Wayanad) The location is a bit away from all major attractions of wayanad, but still the resort makes up for it with its breathtaking setup. We had booked a cottage but the manager was kind enough to give us a free upgrade to tree house. Tree house that they had mentioned is not actually a 'tree-house' it is a structure that they had erected with a tree beside it. It was really pathetic and I would not suggest it to anyone. Seeing the condition of tree house we decided to better go with the cottage. Then the manager told that they have recently build a bamboo hut and we could have a look at it. After seeing the bamboo hut we decided to stay there even if it was a tad expensive (we paid extra for the bamboo hut) because we had to make the trip a memorable one. The view from bamboo hut is awe-inspiring, especially in the morning with jungle on three sides, bird chirping and dears grazing in front of the hut. The staff is very courteous and help in every way possible to make the guests comfortable. The management says it the resort is perfectly safe with electric fences and trenches to prevent encroachment of wild animals (still not able to figure out how the dears made it to the vicinity of the hut). We could hear trumpeting of elephants in the night just behind the hut (there is an electric fence behind the hut). I don't think the resort is a cent percent safe. There are no eating options nearby but the food provided in the resort is splendid. In short, this resort is ideal for anyone who wanna spend own time away from hustle of cities, and with a tint of adventure.

Hi, This is Vamsee, we are group of 10 people visited Emarald in April 2016. Over all stay was fantastic, service was good, rooms were near & clean, but since it is in middle of forest, we can't escape from Insects. Quality of food can be improved, menu can be expanded including more varieties. Hotel staff were very friendly, they have even arranged for mid night Safari upon our request. One can spot seers even in the night, sitting from hotel room, elephants & other wild animals usually pass through the open land near to resort. There is lot of renovation work going on to include pool & boat riding areas, once it's ready, it would def be a good place to stay. Over all Emerald is quiet good & worth the money.

I visited Wayand and I have booked Emarald resort there. Initially I was skeptical hearing that it is Jungle resort. To our dismay and shock, on the first day itself we noticed rats running around the room and spoiled our night's sleep. Next day we informed this to the manager of the resort.They are kind enough to make a change to Wild tusker resort(nearest resort from there) at no extra cost. I can say the resort is built in good location with good picturesque view. They should take care with proper maintenance.

Heard about this resort from my colleague. So decided to spend my honeymoon here. They have really nice cottages , all facing the forest. No luxury amenities but neat and clean. The feel of the place is fantastic in the night. We cooked Chicken barbeque at night. the grill and charcoal were provided. They served tasty Kerala food and even better North indian cuisines. Special thanks to the team for the surprise flower decoration and candle light dinner. Will visit again.
