Stayed at July 17 Residency during our visit to Kodaikanal. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the lake, making it convenient for sightseeing and evening strolls. The rooms were clean and decently maintained, offering basic amenities suitable for budget travelers.

When we entered the hotel, we saw that the rat was killed and not disposed. this entire place was looking very unhigenic and we were unhappy which spoiled our vacation happy time. immediately I thought to move out of this hotel without doing checkin. please don't blindly support this type of poor managed hotels in your booking site, based on your reviews we booked a room. Now your claiming it is non- refundable amount.

july 17 residency is a nice stay at all. but coming to the hot water facility is disappointing. because they are not providing 24 hrs or 12 hrs hot water. you can only get 7 am to 9 am.
unfortunately, when we stayed, we got hot water only for 30 minutes. so a very bad experience in that service.

simple place, with big rooms and lots of space. it was cleaned, but it can be maintained better.
the staff don't speak english, but they are helpful as they do their best to meet your needs.
the negative part is that there is no shower, only a bucket, and no heater for the room whatsoever (and it was very cold and pouring water all the time).
