Our stay at Shikher was really nice. The room was beautiful, the the balcony was the cherry on the top.. we could see the hills from the room, waking up to that view was soothing. Washroom was clean, room was clean. We visited during last week of Nov, so Kalimpong temperature was soothing too. The best part for us, parents travelling with toddlers, was the lawn in front of the guest house. There were flowers, butterflies, beehives in the lawn, my Kid enjoyed a lot playing there. Location was convenient to reach and we can easily locate it.Staffs & services was good, but the room was small for a family. And the cost was high as compared to others and even the price of breakfast & lunch was also costly.It was neat & clean.However overall had a good experience.

The hotel is high up from the market, takes 150 rupees per reserved can one way. Takes 10 rupees each side for share cabs. The guest house is very good, quiet one. Lots of plants, neat and clean, pure air around, if no cloud then one can get good mountain view. One complaint, we asked for rooms in main building, which we had booked,but they gave a wooden interior suite, which was very good for family of 4 ppl with 2 rooms and drawing room but little cramped up if you have issues with lots of pla ...more

This was my second time visit to the shikher.... You couldn't get home feeling, good behavior of staffs and the owner from anywhere but from this guesthouse. the room is neat and clean, clean bathroom, jute chair and a coffee table for seating in balcony and enjoy the view from here. There is another seating area in their frontyard garden which was well decorated. The food was very light and tasty. Do try their pancake in breakfast. And the location is awesome. Market is nearly 2km from Shikher which could easily accessible by a car. And 450 m from Choling Monastery.

This is perhaps one of the best places for a tourist to stay in Kalimpong with a reasonable budget.
The behavior of the staff is polite and friendly. The Manager is always read,willing and able to make your visit as pleasant as possible and helped me immensely with taxi booking and other sightseeing advice.
The food, served in the hotel's restaurant for dinner and lunch is really good. It is homely cooking and both healthy and tasty.

Location was bit inside and difficult to find out. Services were managed by the hotel owner and Free WiFi/internet facility was available. Overall stay was good.

Shikher Guest House - A bliss in the hills. It doesn't lure you with the professionalism of a hotel but comforts you with its very own way. Large, airy and spacious rooms with all the required amenities make your stay utmost peaceful. All the deluxe rooms provide excellent mountain views.The warmth in the behaviour of the staffs makes you feel staying at your very own place. The owners Mr. & Mrs. Gurung themselves took a very good care of us that made us feel to visit them again.

overall good..staff are not much professional...food quality is good.. Nature of owner is very friendly..bcz of staff going outside hotel in night, not gate early morning service, like v want to checkout in early morning but in bathroom not coming warm water so we were wait till staff came n help us.
